Smoothie Bowl | Yeah, That's a Purple Potato!
These chips will be hard work. What to do if we hate nonstick pans.
There are instructions for a microwave version as well. The link is in the description.
What exactly did you put there, on top of pasta????
Chik peas
Have it all listed in the description box
Yeah, that's one of them.
That looks tasty! Also I was here before this was famous
yum!
How long do you bake these in the microwave?
It depends on which cheese you use. There's a URL in the description to the full recipe. Unfortunately, it can't be clickable there. But, if you navigate to my channel's profile, you can find clickable links. Use either the "Looking for a Recipe" link (then scroll to find the cheese chip image) or my website (search "microwave cheese chips" there) to find it.
1st commet wow
Looks good
I’m going to go to the store in the morning for cottage cheese. My cottage cheese turned pink and it’s not good. 😢
This is pure talent! (First)
So there's no need to put the cottage cheese in a processor first, like we did with crackers?
No processing necessary
superbe <3
This is really cool!❤
The animation in this is so cool!
i love this so much
Has anyone put the cottage cheese in blender with herbs and thicker and pour small amounts onto nonstick pan sprayed with olive oil like thin pancakes? Microwave a flop for me even after 5 minutes
Where did you get your spatula?
Really anxious to try this. Will the Knudsen 2% milkfat work?
Why would you be ANXIOUS about trying this? I'd be eager to try it. In fact, I AM eager to try it. Lose your anxiety and just dive right in... no need to be scared !!
I’m in Houston. Does humidity affect the cooking? Mine are browning but not releasing easily.
What’s in it? What’s the name of that seed in the bottom of the glass?
Those are chia seeds. It's a seltzer drink flavored with a fermented fruit syrup. The description has some additional details.
Mine was a watery mess. I tried low heat, medium heat, oil, nothing worked. I did use Trader Joe’s small curd regular fat.
Did you use a Teflon pan?
You need to eat them on camera. I'm not convinced they are crunchy.
Has anyone tried using a low fat (2%) cottage cheese? If so, how was the outcome?
Fantastic! That looks so delicious 😋
I love how you put a creative spin to these recipes. -Silvia NY
That looks very tasty! Thank you -Silvia NY
That looks amazing. Thank you!
😋 I’ll be shopping for cottage cheese this weekend. 👩🏻🍳 👨🍳 🧑🍳 👨🏿🍳
Your "Gumby" style of editing is awesome!!! Really, super cool 🔥
Thank you 😊
The stabilizer is locust bean gum and agar for anyone who wants to know.
But how did u dry them
In the oven. The full recipe details are linked in the description.
great video ---going to Trader Joe's now
Has anybody researched the ingredient difference that makes the Trader Joe’s so much better? I’d like to know what the added ingredients are
I haven't, but I think the key is to have as little liquid as possible so draining the cottage cheese will assure success.
Apparently any sort of stabilizer will do, like agar or xantham gum. I'd start with 1/4 teaspoon for every 16 ounce serving and go from there. No guarantees on that measurement. I figure it's better to start low than to add too much.
Tried this in a nonstick pan with Great Value small curd 4% milk fat. The first batch browned fast on one side and almost burned using medium heat. They tended to stick and rolled up when I turned them. I used a little olive oil spray on the pan for the second batch and low heat for a longer time. This worked better. The chips turned out “almost crisp.”
I use tasty cheese the same way and it turns out crispy and delicious! The microwave is quicker with the same result.
Used the microwave instead! Works great!
I used the microwave and the little mound all melted together into one big chip! By the time the inside quit bubbling, the outside was burnt!!
What is the milk fat % of the cottage cheese please? And are there ingredients in your cottage cheese that you purchased from Trader Joe?
It's a small curd cottage cheese with 4% milkfat Ingredients: Cultured Pasteurized Nonfat Milk, Pasteurized Milk, Pasteurized Cream, Sea Salt, Stabilizer (Nonfat Milk, Locust Bean Gum, Agar), Carbon Dioxide (To Maintain Freshness)
@@perspectiveportions thank you.
Wow! what a fantastic idea! I'll be trying this in my ceramic pan.I just can't see myself nuking them in the microwave, I'm trying to reduce my food radiation exposure as much as possible.
If it makes you feel any better, the microwave "irradiates" your food in a way similar to a heat lamp. It's just a longer wavelength.
made one enormous chip in the microwave; was perfectly browned all over (and super crispy). This method is easier and more efficient than trying to shape individual chips on a parchment. this is AWESOME! Thank you for the great idea of using cottage cheese as a chip.
What did you cook them in your microwave?
There's a new post (linked in the description) all about making cheese chips in the microwave.
Was just about to comment that maybe one chip broken up is better.
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, Yes.. AWESOME! Luv chips, but can't eat potato chips at all, this is truly a miracle for me!
nice
I used uk fatfree cottage cheese and it didnt turn out like yours i even blended it tryed on frying pan and in air fryer no luck 😔😔
Cottage cheese in the uk doesn’t have the additive that trader joes does, it’s that that produces this result. I forget what it is, carageen maybe? Someone has suggested trying mixing xanthan gum in it, but I’ve no idea if that would work.
Don't use Fat free cottage cheese. I use walmart brand full fat and mix it with Pork rind crumbs (Pork rind ground up into fine crumbs) add a little garlic powder and last time added a little dill seasoning too. They come out great every time.
On the idea side I wonder if they would turn out better if you pureed with an immersion blender, maybe try silicone molds and finish crimping in an air fryer. Just spitballing...
So here is what I may try: get some CC, put in a mesh colander to ‘drain’ some of the wetness off, put in a blender/bullet to smoosh together (no lumps)..and then fry…..🤔
How did it turn out?
It would be good to see you eat it.
I love these! Thanks for the recipe. I used cottage cheese with the thickener in it like used in Trader Joes. It also works in the microwave on parchment paper or silicone mat.
What other brands of cottage cheese will work? I don't have a trader Joe's nearby and I tried save a lot brand and it did not work well. It took 10 minutes or more for to finally get dry .
thanks for this video. the pan method looks much easier and less sloppy than the microwave batch i made. nice!
Why not put in parchment and bake in the oven or air fryer?
..that’s what I was thinkin!
I tried the oven with parchment, and it didn’t work.
Tried them and they are delicious. I had to turn up the heat because they became sticky at first. I just left them alone and let them brown. 😉
Have a happy new year to you and everyone 2023🤯🥳
I used Daisy cottage cheese on nonstick pan and it became like sticky glue, never dried up all the way!
Maybe if you drained the cottage cheese first it would help.
