This FM (made by Skacky and Prinxellier) got released like 3 hours ago for a speedmapping jam event, thought it would be fun to "speedrun the routing", seems it's my fm speedrun day :) Good mission btw

No bagfly or wrong warp to not make it too easy. I'm kinda pissed about underport but the light here are killing my pc which make it very hard to play properly (and i believe there is some kind of occasional bug that kinda make the game partially load twice, which is why there is some double sound glitch and it's super laggy). Originally i just wanted to tie Voidmint time but i got a failed 13 so i decided to go for it. Well i was the first to believe that we couldn't get a better routing on a so short level, but while (still) working on the any% full game routing i figured out that stabing Lord Yabu is faster than luring him with the dog :) On hardcore it's a bit hard to not get killed tho

@@Suds_Mc_Duff Yeah especially since a 1.1 update is coming though it is mainly just a performance fix. Might make it worth going at this again though to improve the time.

Just finished this game for the first time like an hour ago. I have a question: The "I HAD MY FENCE" bit, is that a wrong-warp?
Well gj :) No, basically each time i launch the castle level, due to a bit of save glitching I move forward to the next day, all these level restarts are there so I can be at day 8 when I reach the city, i simplify it a bit but that's the idea. So you could count that as save/time manipulation but not a wrong warp.

@@Tumbledweeb If you're curious about the real story i find that out by randomly spamming quicksave and quickload out of frustration after ruining a 100% cradle run xD I've always feeled a bit stupid about it cause i was already running the game for months at that point, and the manip is pretty simple, i should have found that out a lot earlier tbh
@ThxForSR Actually, you discovered it the same way as most speedrunners discover new tech; Completely by accident. So you're not stupid, you're a trailblazer! Trust me; I know what I'm talking about. I've done QA testing, and I've contributed to the "Silent Hill Homecoming" speedrunning community by uncovering new routes. Before I came along, they ran the ENTIRE sewer level from start to finish. I simply couldn't allow that to continue. So I sat down, studied the map for optimal routing, went into the game and found a way. My discovery resulted in 70% of the level being skipable, which was a 2 - 3 minute time save, if I recall correctly. The then world champion was overjoyed when I approached him with my findings.
@@Tumbledweeb Oh i've found much better and complex stuff on others game since then, so my ego is fine :D I really was a beginner at the time i was running Deadly Shadows. Congrats on your find :) It's always a great feeling when you finally manage to break the level

Thank you! That rock throw is really mandatory to prevent Hayato to die. Also i had to watch your run to even think about going into shadow mode before Hayato start climbing, i went from 19 to 17 with that optimisation alone :)

Thanks! The teleport glitch has been around for years but since a vast majority of the runners are doing glitchless hardcore individual level runs it's not often used.
at 0:23 the ladder climb, possible to climb minimal and use vertical slide to save small mounts of time? since ladder climbing is hella slow and at 0:48, if vertical slides also work while climbing rope then technically u could save time by not having to pull arrow that far back and shoot much lower, then couple with climbing rope to enough height where rest would be covered by vertical slide to the roof + mantle, would that work? possibly shave down 2-3 seconds in total on this IL
Actually thats some decent idea, but you know well that i'm not the kind to grind for such a minimal timesave that makes the run way harder. Especially atm, like man i didn't do any run for more than a years. And you know... having that kind of dedication for a few dozen views on youtube, imo either you have to absolutely love doing it, or it's gonna be bad for you mental state. I'm not criticizing but it's a bit ironic that you are always willing to push runners to those extreme while never experiencing the actual painful part yourself. And we called it gainer ffs!
i got about 10k hrs in AOE2DE modding in the span of 4yrs, not including time spent on learning other tools like photoshop, blender, texture packer and some scripting so I kinda know the feeling of grind but just different area. I dont like grind that much but I like to test stuff and make things. imo if vertical slide is easy it shouldnt really be considered as extreme unless its slide activation window is even lower than that of outdoor slide, I wouldnt know tho. @@ThxForSR
That's way different xD Thats work; which i respect, but you can't compare that to grinding a run. So you don't run the game but you consider slides as easy? :P@@thieftdp2680
@@ThxForSR well the work is unpaid cause its just hobby now in a rabbit hole. im not sure about the slides but afaik the indoor ones with 10 unit height has a larger activation duration than the outdoor ones but since you're the only person who has done the gainer one so far I can only ask u. no one else has done it well except suds but he never upload any vids
Work hasn't to be pay to be work, or to be respectable, hopefully! Basically gainer has the exact same activation windows than an outdoor slide. It's almost the same thing, slides => you grab the bj hitbox while leaning in two direction. Gainer, you just grab the bj hitbox.@@thieftdp2680

It's a teleport glitch
main questions, 1) how do you do the super jump thing? cant figure out the inputs to do it 2) how do you do the thing where you lean through walls to pull switches? im trying to figure it out but i cant get it 3) how did you fly with the sack? idk the method
Hehe yeah the main questions is pretty much everything xD So: 1) Screenshot then jump, you get higher jump with higher resolution, cause the lag you get when you take a screenshot is causing it. Also it's easier with screenshot bind on mousewheel 2) Basically lean, shake your mouse and press interact at a good timing, it's not easy, if you struggle with that binding interact on mousewheel can help 3) Actually it's really easy, look at this video: ruclips.net/video/lXHycnFYFZ8/видео.html
How do you do the clip through the wall in the market consistantly? Ive only achieved it once.
Uh you're not, i'm not consistent on it... the way i'm doing it (small step ahead, look left near the bottle, mantle, look up right while spamming screenshot) is what work best for me but i'm don't think i'm even close to 30% successful try. Tea has a bit slower but apparently consistent setup, he showed it on the Gloomwood speedrun discord, you should join! The link is on src
Why blind the keepers?
At 15:20? It's because i can't get the glyph upgrade until the female keeper is done talking, blinding her cut out her dialogue so it's a bit faster

i like it just a thief speedjumping through places alerting everyone to his presence but nobody can catch him so he robs the place blind in two minutes and leaves unscratched hey that's a good thing for a fantasy story

Awesome run. Totally forgot about the hints in Osaka and that one might unlock shadow mode. Wild route ending in Mt. Tsuru, and I like the "just shoot everyone" strat in Prison lol

This one had a glitzy atmosphere that is fantastically immersive. My gripe with it is the physics were clunky and I always felt like a box blundering through a ballpark. All things considered, it was an addition that I rather enjoyed. If Thi4F had been less linear, staying true to T1/T2 formula, it would have been perfect. I'm currently working on Thief2x, playing as Zaya isn't the same, but it's cool.
I would love for you to explain how tricks work in this game and how the ones in your runs work. It seems hard to find reliable sources for this and considering how skilled you are with it I think it'd be a pleasure to see you explain things so new players and old alike can implement what you know
I'm... really late, somehow i apparently missed that comment, but just in case, i've explained most of the glitches in the various comments over here. I agree this would need like an explanation video wich is something I might do one day. That said i don't want to promess anything, since i'm not native english talking is a lot more complex than writting... but once again i wanted atleast to point out that some of my answer here are explaining most of the run.

I want to add. There is a mod that removes loading screen between the zones. That way you can get even higher scores
I know about that mod already :) The thing is we're using loadless timer (you can see my timer automaticaly stop himself at every loading, its kinda mandatory since loading time tends to varies a lot depending on your computer) so the mid level transition loading time are not take in acount. In fact it would even be a bit slower cause some of the mid level transition are replaced by some aditionnal space that take you a few seconds to cross.
