It has enough gain. The amp doesn't sound too distorted but carries the tone incredibly. Exactly what you're looking for with Slash. We used to have the Marshall AFD 100, but you can forget about that amp. In my opinion, it's the best plexi-style amp there is. Even clean, the amp is awesome. Best regards

@@Konsti-gt8yc Thanks for the response! Are you owner or seller? I have 2 AFD100 (1 signed), and I LOVE that amp! The best one, in my opinion, beside Orange Rockerverb. I’ve been a slash collector, but my mind still didn’t accept Magnatone like a slash tone, and than Billy Gibons, Jeff Back stile….

@@leonardomedeirosgOwner! I don't think Slash played the AFD 100 as it was released by Marshall as a production model. In my opinion, Slash plays with modded amps. And honestly, when did the last good Marshall amp come on the market? Does the Marshall tone even exist when many later boutique manufacturers modded Marshalls, especially in the 80s? We really do have a who's who of amps at home. Friedman BE-100 Deluxe, Soldano, modded Marshalls, Diezels, 3 Two Rocks. As far as the Marshall sound is concerned, or what we mean by that, the SL-100 is amazing. The amp pushes like crazy with without to much scratchy gain. The treble is present but never like an ice pick. We also have the Billy Gibbons Magnatone fifty nine M80. The amp is different, more compact, goes into a fuzzy tone faster, also great but not a slash amp. I would say that with the Magnatone, Slash has arrived where he wanted to be for a long time.
