@@FishupNorth its was actually on the surface using a spoon just trolling 2 poles on the kayak and happened 4:15ish was headed back when it was getting dark. Sunday another boat caught 9 lakers they were in an area that was 40 50ft depth range and were jigging. I also had a really big northern pike too but didn't get it out of the water. Got it to the right side of my kayak and was about 3ft. I tried getting it in the net but dove under my kayak and got tangled in the pedal fins and got off the lure jumping out of the water on left side of the kayak. 2 firsts for me in a 20 min range and nothing else for the 3 days :) Got a vid of the trout but didnt get a picture of the big pike.

@@Putt-Putt-Vroom damn that’s a wild story. I can’t believe you’re getting that good of fishing up there, now I have to try out paradox, what an epic lake that is, yeah the Lakers are shallow for responding. That’s good to know. I appreciate the input man!!

@@FishupNorth Do you know where I'm talking about? The locals call the public access spot Shady Grove and it's maybe 3/4 mile paddle upstream to the falls where at the foot of the rapids/falls there's a really deep hole.

@@FishupNorth I enjoy watching your fishing videos. My friend has a cabin on Lake George, and I often fish there in the summer. I actually discovered Paradox Lake through your channel-it’s a smallmouth bass paradise! When you mentioned in your outro that you enjoy doing things solo, it reminded me of MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way). Just thought I’d share that. Can’t wait to visit Boreas Ponds.

@@FishupNorth I was fishing at the mouth of Northwest Bay early June. The fish were deep on bait.

@@FishupNorth I do have a boat but it’s not setup for fishing. I’ve got that and my hobie setup. I just went out earlier tonight and inside of ten minutes the lake became downright treacherous. It is no joke when it turns nasty.

I am close to the narrows I would recommend going just outside of the islands

@@FishupNorth 🙂 I don't fish LG however I do a lot of trout fishing in LGWF including Jabe and Little Jabe, where I come across Route 8 from Chestertown to Hague and then hit 9N towards Tongue Mountain, which I also hike from time to time. I know what the Hague launch looks like from 9N, however the last time I saw that from the lake itself was back in the 60s. Yeah, I'm old as dirt. LOL!

I hit Paradox this morning. Conditions weren't great because of the front that just came through but I did pull in a 16" largemouth on a whopper plopper off the beach across from the state launch. Also caught a nice fat 16" smallie trolling with a shallow running Rapala-like jerk bait and then had one right upside the kayak and did the exact same thing you did, fumbling with the net, letting some slack into the line and then watching the fish swim away. It was a huge smallie, at least 20". Dang! LOL! It took half the spool on two runs and then 1/4 on the last run. Okay, that's probably an exaggeration but it did strip a lot of line! Thought he was played out after the last run and didn't pay enough attention. It was a really nice smallie! Both the smallies were off Crawford Island and within 5 minutes of each other. I would have stayed longer but the wind kicked up around 10 AM. Almost whitecaps! By the way, nice setup on your yak! 🙂
