Where do you find replacement parts
The grips on the wheels look as if they are welded on, ours were always cast with the wheel.
In the North of England from the age of eight to twelve I drove a Fordson N with a Bamford single-horse mower, my father would walk behind. The mower was new around 1945, it had a four-foot blade with a cast gearbox and the gears ran in gear oil 90.
Looks nice
Looks like you got alot of diesel/atf soaking and low heating ahead of ya i wish I was local so I could try my hand at 3d modeling those goofy parts that way i could start making a library of parts lost to time
Id like to see the difference between the trailer gear, regular gear, and high gear mowers
if you are on facebook, join "horse drawn farm equipment" group, i just posted a post about them
if you go back far enough, i have documented the different flywheel rotation per wheel revolution on different mowers
Nice
Inertia
Nice paint job what brand you using im really displeased with the low voc stuff from majic its been weeks and its still not fully hard as id except it to be the only nice thing is it comes in ihc colors and isn't overly expensive
i find you need the catalyst to harden the paint, its expensive but worth it.
Love the new videos, Norman. Would love to see a #7 if you ever do one.
Looks great, sir!
Thank you for sharing your skill and Knowladge
Glad to pass it on
Do you do more videos like this or know that channels that do so, but more in depth? Take care and God bless
just subscribe to my page, I just started putting them on, but have more coming
Where are you getting the replacement parts ,cattail foundry/hickory lane welding, i like the horse drawn farm implements and am trying to find a way into fixing this stuff without being problematic to the existing shops in my area, I may be trying to get an apprenticeship with an older guy that is currently fixing this stuff near me in southern ohio I taught myself how to use the fushion 360 cad software so i could make the casting molds for myself and other shops who need the parts

I just did this on my no9 i found that the harborfreight Pittsburgh 10 ton hydraulic gear puller was a massive upgrade to the older screw gear puller I borrowed from a neighbor definitely worth the upgrade also do you happen to know where i can get new rims they were originally Firestone4-48 i found one in excellent condition at farmers equipment and repair last set they had i have two others but im not happy with the pitting they are paper thin in areas
I have some, but they may not be any better than what you have, I lost 2 NOS ones in a fire years back. I will look, but if you do not hear from me, I do not have any that might suit. I will have to look at the puller, most are not long enough for the things I do. spreader axles being the worst
I'll have to look at my book from linn r miller on fixing no9's but i believe he has a method to jamb these so the brute force is applied to flywheel instead of directly to an individual geartooth
thats why I have sold a lot of flywheels
