I was surprised by how much I liked this game

This looks very similar to Cathedral, I like it.

Tips for anyone playing when it gets hard, there are 2 parry spirits; headless defender and “the pot spirit” (forgot the name). And using both of them can make short work of pretty much any hard enemy, bosses included. Ofc the trade off is if you get don’t get the timing down you get hit, and you lose the one of the stock. But once you level them up and get the timing, you rarely have to dodge. Just stand your ground, parry and reap the benefits of high damage and broken posture.

That was absolutely adorable.

So since difficulty was clearly not a criterion in your selection, what exactly makes a starter metroidvania compared to a regular one?

I have this game in my backlog and this may sound weird but I've been delaying playing it because I already know that it will be one of my favorite games and I don't want the experience to be over. Lol. Can anyone relate to that?

I wish you were still making videos. I enjoy your not using profanity and dry sense of humor. But I'm sure you are doing more important things like providing for your family and that is truly wonderful.

Gotta say, Ender Lillies just hooked me in a way other games seldom do. I finished the entire thing over the course of a three day weekend with 100% completion. I am a sucker for storylines that take place in ruined worlds that despite their desperate situation always end up quite hopeful. I am not sure if I will ever return for NG+ because I enjoyed it moreso for the atmosphere rather than the challegenging gameplay but I am extremely excited for the full release of Ender Magnolia, even if it were a carbon copy with a different art direction and naming convention, I'd still eat it up

Mega man battle network is a perfect implementation of random battles.

7:20: heads-up, it has since been ported to the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis by Mike "MOF" Moffitt, which is how I've played it.

I love metroid dread. It's my favorite metroid. Dread, zero mission and then super, in my opinion. It's my favorite metroidvania too.

Finish deaths gambit afterlife you wont regret it. Its my favorite metroidvania. Its the hardest but the story is amazing. The first one was good but had lots of isssues. The combat was clunky, the story was like cut off, there were not many weapons. The metroidvania elements were lacking to an extent etc. This dlc is way better.

If you have to keep reminding us the "Which is a Good Thing" to be diverse, then I am raising doubts on that.

The manual in the first game isn't intentionally lying. The words used in the Japanese manual are gender neutral but there is no english equivalent so they had to go with "he" and "his" as they still wanted the gender reveal at the end.

Fully played through HK, except the extreme challenge area. It was ok. Colours a bit dark/monotone per area which made things look drab. They used colours, but only picked 1 for any area. There are better MVs than this for me in my opinion.

I don't like hollow knight at all. Too dark, too much puzzle platforming. I can't just have a map? really?

Cathedral - I really really dislike chiptune music. Won't be playing that one. Same for Shovel Knight, played for a couple hours, but the music drives me away.

I don't think Metroidvania works in fully 1st person 3d. I felt Prime was so bad, that I ignored the other 2 in the collection despite having them ready and sitting there.

I really disliked Iconclasts. The story and characters took themselves way too seriously. It was silly.
