A P0119 code will indicate a possible replacement of the Coolant Temperature Sensor in a Pontiac Solstice. This video will show you where to find that sensor.

I have a tilt steering wheel the bottom piece came out in two parts. Had to release the tile lever for the left half to come off. Actually looks like you could do the repair with only taking the left side off.

I'm only getting 240P resolution on this video so difficult to see. Anyone else with that problem?

Just did this on my '08 Solstice GXP. 45 minutes, but I cleaned everything too. If you're not familiar with newer car construction you might shake your head a time or too. But this is fairly straihgtforward and simple. I have seen vids where people remove all sorts of un-needed things. This vid here is pretty on the money. I suggest taking a couple pics of how it looked before you took it apart. The upper and lower trim around the ignition and control stalks must be positioned correctly. Not hard, just need to be certain it's in the right spot, it floats a bit before the screws go back in. It will fight you if it's not in the right spot, If it is in the right spot, the two halves of the bottom trim just about position themselves and clip back together easily. Turn the steering wheel a little left or right so you can see what mates up, too. If the new unit isn't seated all the way, you'll have problems. Make sure the clips holding it to the column snap into place. Take a small screwdriver and run it along the body of the unit, under each snap, top and bottom. This will click them into place. There's a tool for removing the barb connectors. Cheap and worth it. Screwdrivers tend to scratch things up. I have a tiny steel prybar from...somewhere...that works perfectly so long as I'm very careful.

Thanks - worked perfectly (and that's for someone that doesn't work on cars)!

I picked it up at an autowreaker. They had two solstice for parts. Ideal wreckers in Chillawack BC Canada. They do mail order.

Well, found the problem with my install of the switch. The switch would not push all the way in for the clips to engage. Unless that happens when the the steering wheel cam comes around to engage the small white plastic slide at at the back of the switch that pushes the spring to cut off the turn signal it will not work. It will simply push the entire switch forward to where the steering wheel cam will not hit it correctly. After some pushing and enlarging the holes that the clips slide in to the taps on the clips were finally able to lock. This holds the switch firm and as the steering wheel cam comes around white plastic slide in it makes contact to push on the spring which releases the contact for the for the signal light staying on and it returns to off. Lesson learned in my case and in others who do an install make sure the switch is pushed all the way in and the tabs lock or it will not work. Thanks again Elov for in install video. You were right on but as a matter for others who do the install they must make sure the switch is pushed all the way in and both upper and lower clips are locked into their slots.

:) that works but a tiny screwdriver blade between the clip and the body of the switch snaps them up into place

Well, put the new one in. Great video. Only problem is the turn signal will still not turn off as required around a turn and will not pass inspection.

Did you find anything obviously broken or worn on the switch you removed? I'm having the same problem with mine, except that it fails to cancel after right turns. I removed the switch from my car, but I'm at a loss to find anything wrong with it. The cancelling pawl pops out when I move the lever to either position, and doesn't look worn. When I slide a screwdriver blade across the surface to simulate the action of the cam, it trips the lever into the neutral position. I'm worried that the new switch I have on order isn't going to do me any good, and that I might be looking at replacing the cam ring, which looks like a bear of a job compared to replacing the switch.

Like you I couldn't find anything physically wrong with the switch. Replacing it solved the problem.

@@elovsimmons9844 Since I couldn't see anything wrong with the switch or the cam, and I didn't have a new switch to install, I just put it all back together and, lo and behold, it's working now. I suspect the switch might not have become loose, even though both of the locking tabs were engaged. If it happens again, the first thing I'm going to try is pushing the turn signal lever firmly towards the steering column to see if it has any effect before I take anything apart.
