Can anyone give me any tips and probably some motivation on how to start getting ready a few years prior for the marines. I want to join after I graduate high school but I’m not an athletic person and have never done any type of sports and I’m kind of an introverted person.

15 minutes is generous. At lost in the woods we’d be woken up to one of our drills beating one dudes locker with a mine probe and right after we towed the line we got put in the front leaning rest got a lecture and then got told 5 minutes in the proper pt uniform with hygiene fully conducted. Good times

Went through Air Force basic before most folks reading this were even born. 1962!! I remember it being a much more intense experience than what I'm seeing here. The instructors had one tone of voice, loud...and intimidating!! Stayed at Lackland for Air Police school. No walk in the park either!!

Bruh; if it was like this when i went in in 05; I'D LAUGH MY ASS OFF! we had a drill instructor literally get in trouble for smoking privates extremely hard after chow! They literally were puking. AND THIS WAS IN RECEPTION!

When tf did you start getting a weapon in reception?

Went thru basic in the late 80’s and I have to admit it was an experience much more ass chewing than on this video and it’s evident that the airmen are issued much better uniforms and equipment than we had. The uniforms including boots and underwear were of low quality, I expected much better. Once you purchased your own the quality was better. The boots at basic were crippling many airmen, it was sad.

I was in Parris Island in 1967,it was different then,I didn't cry at graduation day,I did cry at the end of Confidence Course after a 30 miles hike to Elliott's Beach ...

Went thru Air Force basic training in August/September 1969, man it was hot on the drill pads at Lackland AFB. So glad I joined, learned a great skill and had a great career at Boeing building new airplanes as opposed to fixing the ones in the hanger/ flightline. Respect to all vets of all branches of our military!!
