7 Inches of Pleasure
Добавлен 7 ноя 2013
Just some random music stuff. Trying to stay away from tunes that are up dozens of times and sticking to original vinyl rips, no remastered nonsense, just the real deal. The majority of what I'll post will be from 45's but there will be the occasional album thrown in for a change, as well as some old shellac 78's (10" and a few 12").
Everything posted is from my personal collection and there will be a mix of styles, 60's pop, Beat, Reggae, Ska, Blues, Soul, Gospel, Country, Jazz etc. I'm also posting music from around the world so it's not all going to be in English. Explore the channel and hopefully you'll hear something new and interesting, or at least new!

That’s my grandpa singing (Tony) still alive and well
A song I always play on repeat
💥💥💥💥 - The version I know is by King Size Taylor, but this is brilliant too !
Only this original (which played a million times on AM radio) will do!
That is a very old song 😮
This song was released in July, 1965. The Sunrays' "I Live for the Sun" is a surf classic from the mid-1960s. Thanks for putting it up, 7 Inches of Pleasure. Bang-up job. Love it!
December 2024. Still hilarious, well done Jasper!
Oh yeah, I remember indiana outside that railroad track, you can understand that sugar shack!!!❤
Tornados at South Pier Theatre, Blackpool UK, Summer 1964: They appeared to have played this, Czardas, Exodus, and Telstar. Anyone know of any other songs in their set?
Now l gotta play Yummy,Yummy!
When l bought this 45rpm, l was like WTF?😂
Was looking for this one, thank you! And yes this is the original.
I must’ve played this record hundreds of times. Back in the day, I was a DJ at The Central dance club in Leeds. They were booked to play there and so kept on playing it to promote them. I think by the time the band actually turned up, the Central crowd were sick of hearing it though I’m only guessing. Fab rendition of an early Beatles song. Happy days 👍
I always get dumbfounded by a few of these singles by Dave Dee & co. Teenybopper singalong songs with the most raunchy killer fuzz guitar of the 60s? Odd combination, but it works!
UK SINGLES CHARTS: WEEK OF NOV 22, 1969 NEW NUMBER 30 PEAKED NUMBER 12
Gre up to this still loving it
I remembered this song today when I heard some character on the telly talking about what a lovely day they'd had. I sought something which I thought might be probably non-existent but here it is! That is , a version of this lovely song which sounds natural and not too formal, but still charming and nicely done. And it's 60 years old!
The best instrumental version +rare picture..IMO❤💯
Love the fidelity & the graphic on this great debut single by the legendary TRAFFIC!!!!!!!!!!!
Man this one takes me back!! What a tune 😎
I remember listening to this song on a single as a child, and thinking they were American singers....i was amazed to find out they were from Northern Ireland! Then in later years, George Jones talked about Billy Brown and The Freshmen on his radio show, and how they were THE BEST showband out of them all, and this was when i heard about them. What a fantastic showband!! and what a sound.
I thought I'd put a comment on all your uploads, must've missed this one out..😂 Anyway, thank you ladsa, I've mentioned I am a lifelong DDDBMT fan and have beautiful memories of going to see the band often & meeting them, Love the guys, And Bend It, is my 2nd fave, after Xanadu ❤ Brill upload, thank you loads ❤️
Imagine how it would look if they used this song for part of the car chase scene in the movie “BULLITT” starring Steve McQueen?!
Was this ever used as the theme tune to a 70s detective series of the Mystery Movie type?
Issued in stereo on the UK RCA releases in 1972. US RCA Victor rejected the band and the band wound up on Bell Records in 1971. "Man From Mecca" and it's A-side "Little Willy" was issued in mono on Bell records in the US and Canada.
Linda essa música
Primal.
Just to let you know. This is my Dad singing. He passed away last week. Bless him. RIP Dad. ❤x
@@jasoncheriton1836 sorry to hear about your loss ❤️
Recorded in December 1966 for release on the first of January 1967. Noted as the worst Top Six disc ever to be released. This was the disc that ended the Association of Avenues Gordon Melville with Bill Welling. Hence the introduction of the Avenue series of Cover Version Records on May 1st in 1967 and the demise of the Top Six Label. The rest is History the last Avenue Cover Version release was in early 1974. Happy Days.
@@colinrichardson9742 thanks, wasn't sure exactly when the split happened. I know the Top Six lasted until number 42, with a random one numbered 48 later, but didn't know when the split happened. Avenue started at number 39 so I knew it had to be somewhere in the mid 30's of the Top Six releases. Interesting times. Youd knowledge, as always, is appreciated

This is early 1964 .. to a T . LOL Thank you for all these little treasures. What an era!
Wonderful song.

Great melody and production- always regarded 'Breakout' as groundbreaking
A nice Christmas Turn-Table party selection .. when six 45 RPM discs would be piled up on the Dansette spindle. Happy memories. What an era! ;o)
Było to w 1977 roku. Trudny i przełomowy rok. Zwaliły się na mnie trudności różnego rodzaju. Taka muzyka pomogła mi je przetrwać. To dzięki Grechucie, Rodowicz, Brekautom, Dwa plus Jeden i Smoky. W następnym roku 1978 ruszyłem naprzód i rozwinąłem skrzydła. Dziękuję ❤
EMI/COLUMBIA record label, 1968. Thank you for the music. 🎵🎶
Do you have the French version of the Monsieur Dupont single that was released in France? I'm interested in its B-side - which is the French version of this song, Voice in the Crowd (Écoute ma voix). For some reason, no digital copy of the French version of this song exists online.
That ever-changing 'Faith' sound catches this effort out .. I suspect the flip-side 'So Long Baby' could've suited better. What an era.
A good effort at one of Billy's slightly less popular recordings. Great stuff. What an era!
Neat! What an era. ;o)
Ideal for 'Easy Beat' (BBC Light Programme Sunday mornings) .. Very evocative, and quite a good version too! What an era. ;o)
Gilmore Girls
A big hit in the UK for ... Brian Poole and the Tremeloes - The Beatles (on an E.P. - registered big on the NME Top Thirty bestselling records chart; E.P. and L.P. sales weren't usually registered on 'singles' charts) and The Isley Brothers gave it a run for the money. What an era! Thanks for all these little treasures. ;o)
@@TheLeonhamm based on the vocals, sounds more like a Lennon sound-a-like than Poole to me, but I do love BP & The Tremeloes version
@@7inchesofpleasure959 What an era!
A neat version of a film theme tune .. about the same time as 'Day Of The Triffids' (take your pick which was the feature and which the 'B' movie). What an era. ;o)
