454 SBF Engine Build - World Products
I want one. Who makes the heads wth extra support
Back in the day the scorpion with the side ways carb they had more equal runner length just a thought from the BLOODY KNUCKLE
Nice shop, nice tech, good presentation. Big improvement needed is camera angles, get closer, tighter.
7/16 main bolts holding 3000hp???
What deck height did you start with?
Damn near a $5000 set of heads, but they surely produce the power.
How many degrees of timing?
This bore/stroke combo makes this the ultimate BB for me. Its having to re do another trans rearend etc that would kill me . That would shred my built 12 bolt and stage 2 T56 to shreds Unreal!!
Think that Dyno is alittle generous
Like that moroso oil pan.
Not a fan compstar made in China
No more Merlin blocks for me, I have a four link Miller dragster that I bought used with a 565 on methanol. It was built with a Merlin III block and wound up cracking in the main webbing, The Merlin blocks have a history of this and was supposed to be fixed with the updated Merlin III. I’m right now trying to get the 565 put back together but I went with a Dart block with a rotating assembly from Ohio Crank.
OUch$$ Dart makes good stuff hope shes running soon. Wish I could afford to build one!
@@gordocarbo I’m not blessed with money either, it took me almost 5 years to slowly gather all the parts for my 565. I do have it broken in but have not been able to make a run yet because of rain and a bad case of bronchitis.
@@noahdunaway Understand! Took me 3 yrs to save just to build a hot solid roller sb. Spent 18k on it lol. At least we appreciate what we do get. Now have no health to even afford gas to drive it. Post up when yours is running I cant imagine the torque it will make!
what size headers?
Does the name Merlin have anything in common with aircraft engines long ago?
Did you really do any of this or are you just reading somebodys work
Can't wait to see the 14-71 on top of it.
1.7K+👍's up thank you for sharing
So the heads used here do not utilize the extra bolt holes . What heads do and how are the attached at the intake side. Though the intake runner ?
You sure build some SICK motors Richard, if i ever win the lottery i will buy a 67-69 RS Camaro and build an engine close to that to relive my youth and realize how slow my 67 RS 427/425 with 456 gears and a 4 speed is compared to these space age engines
Big block Chevrolet is the way to go
this is great, would a merlin IV do?
Never buy this garbage. This company is a ripp off. They will prey on you.
You sell garbage and you know it. You guys are frauds that prey on people who just want a better part. Shame on your made in USA bullshit.
My friend has a pair of 565cid 9.4 comp ratio, meticulously/completely blueprinted/balanced engines for a marine/boat app, w/AFR 315cc cnc'd heads with a little more massaging work to the exhaust ports, some small/mild Comp Cams solid "low shock" roller cams around 250*/.650" lift on 114* LSA, single plane Weiand Track Warrior intake manifolds massaged and "burr ported", roughly 1000cfm 4150 sized carbs should be some pretty heavy duty torque creations to move a 10,000+ lbs boat
What was the deck, 9.8 or 10.2?
You only mentioned 35k psi in this video, you don't have it on your catalog or website
Can you use a electric water pump this motor
murica!!!
Can you make a 572 from these block
First comment
Awesome video! One of my favorite times when I could race was the two days I spent at westec in the company of the greatest horsepower making machines Steve and Stiregal Dynoing my 572 BBC BG deals that needed more air! 🤣 an awesome experience to sit and just listen and do everything they said to do
Throwing the kitchen sink at it!!! LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣 good one!!!
Good old fashioned torker intake from EDELBROCK.
Richard, were you guys running a rocker stud gridle? Pictures dont show one, but I wondering if if did do to the large cam lift.
Richard Holdener….. Count me in
What is the carb brand name of your information is good
Lmfao, in the subtitle it said "big black Chevies" I agree, Chevy orange sucks. They look great in black and aluminum
I would like to see you add an extra atmosphere, or more, on top of that :-)
Thanks Richard, I've always wanted to get my hands on one of those Merlin blocks or a assembled one. I've got friends that ran them and they were bullit proof. It surprised me to see you cranked that think to 7500 but after I saw what all was done I figured it out haha. But awesome video. I would love to have that engine but I also know you probably have a good chunk of money in that thing. I'd like to see a pro charger on it or a turbo charger maybe. I'm more of a turbo guy cause you can always turn the boost up with ease. If you have the proper turbo that is. That would be a good video to do if you haven't. I know that would take alot of time and money just throwing that out there. But if you have awesome! Thanks for the awesome videos. I really love how the nitrous plate made power with no N02. I'm gonna watch it again and try to figure that one out. Keep up the amazing work.
This channel and others like it proves that the " word of mouth" in some ways for power adders or even just small things that can make good or decent power, all the little things add up! You just have to do your research. I quit listening to oh you shouldn't do that or run this when I swaped and boosted my car I ran it with turbo maxed out on boost and a few other tricks, the engine lasted your 6 years before it got refreshed. But I bought it used also, and did all my own work/ prep work before i stuck the swap in.
RH, have you ever run back to back nitrous tests where the change was heads flow? Example. Does a 150-2000 shot net the same result when tested on and engine where head option 1 flows 30-40 cfm less air than head option 2?
Ford small block vs small block chevy vs big block chevy vs LD vs LT vs coyote which one is the most reliable and consistent for 2500 plus HP?
Well if it fits that like the first time I think the cost of an intake is worth it but you also need another carb but what was that like 50 hp and foot pounds lie everywhere
I like BBC and I would like to see you do something with an 366 tall deck just for curiosity
Split doms staggered would have helped your lean condition. That’s what there for.
With the right Big block you can change Earth rotation... Lol
Dyno Brule’ !!
Have some questions how can I contact you.
No numbers ??
732 HP @ 6900 & 621 TQ @ 5300
To build this motor in parts alone would be over 12 grand and by next year a loaf of bread will be 10 dollars. Great video.
