I decided to sing this song because one of my guitar students really likes the Disney movies and we were thinking about this song. And since it is in the midst of autumn in Wisconsin, I was moved to sing it.❤️🍁🍂

I have sung Irish songs all my life, but never this one. I was down visiting my Father and another resident at his assisted-living asked me if I had ever learned “The Fields of Athenry”. I said I’ve heard of it but no, I hadn’t learned it. He said that it was his favorite song and that he liked the Dubliners version. I had to go and learn it!☘️

I learned this song when I was practicing Irish singing technique, and I fell in love with it❤️

I like this song because it brings me back to my folk roots. I love that I can use my Irish singing technique.
