Mine looses speed after playing one side of a record, I put a new belt on, changed out the old capacitor and resistor but the problem exists.

Finally a review of what this giant killer can do with some good vibes.

OMG my old turn table. I bought it overseas in 1980. when albums were golden.

Back in the day when I owned an SR-212, I really didn't appreciate how good this turntable was, especially when paired with the brilliant moving magnet cartridge the Ortofon VMS20E Mk2. I found that the sound quality from those two could not be surpassed by other turntable & cartridge combinations costing 3 to 4 times as much. However, as an inexperienced youth, I succumbed to propaganda and traded my SR-212 in for a direct drive TT combo and have regretted that rash decision ever since, because I have never been able to get back the beautiful holographic sound I lost.

The pitch leds are not working well. Clean the variable pot and if necessary set the leds frequency according to service manual.

I have had one of these for about 35 years--with big speakers. I just put the speakers out in my garage...waiting for trash day this summer. Any sense in keeping this receiver? I used it mainly as a AM/FM receiver, but I get very poor reception in my area. Any suggestions for what I should do with it?

If you didn't use the cueing mechanism because it's inop, that's an easy fix with a small rubber band.

The tonearm looks identical to the that of the 1200mk2. Except it's missing the cue lever. Amazing turntable indeed.
