50 years ago Pink Floyd were already 200 years ahead of everybody!

Pink Floyd is in my blood since 1968. I saw them 5 times. First concert in Montreal (1971).

The "Dark Side of the Moon" album stay 19 and a half years of the billboard chart.

I'm 71 years old and Pink Floyd fill me music for 55 of them! I am a lucky one.

There is "Music" and there is "Pink Floyd". They brings you somewhere out of your mind! 50 years ago Pink Floyd were already 200 years ahead of everybody!

I bought my first Pink Floyd album in 1969 (Ummagumma) and saw them live in 1971 and 4 more times after that. For me This is the BEST band of all times. Now I'm 71 years old and still listen to them everyday.

The blonde girl is Samantha (Sam) Browne, she usually sings blues aand was discovered by Gilmour back in the 80s. She has a hit single "Stop". The second is Durga McBroom. She sang with both Gilmour and Waters on their solo albums. The studio version sang (quite improvised) by Clare Torry is way better than any live performance of this song.

Glad to have seen them lve in 1987 and 1994. I'm going to see Gilmour on Oct 2nd 2024. I've seen him also in 2016 and Roger Waters in 2015. Check their older stuff

That solo......this is the first and only time that I heard a guitar scream in emotional pain. Beautiful.

Recommendation - Echoes (Remember That Night, 2006)

The Gods created the guitar to be placed into David Gilmore's hands.

Rick does sing on a number of Floyd tracks, Paintbox, Echoes of course and Wearing The Inside Out which I suggest that you listen to.

Richard's so underappreciated for his contribution. He's just important as David and Roger, imo. Not that Nick is expendable, either. You had mentioned you wonder how Richard's vocals are, you've heard him sing a fair bit with Floyd. He sang a lot up until '75, either some lead, chorus, or harmonies with David. Their voices complemented each other perfectly.

This version, at this concert, is Pink Floyd at their best. ❤‍🔥 It is an awesome performance bringing an important message.

Props to Dick Parry on sax. He was the sax player on Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, so the 3 of them have been playing together in some manner for a long time.

Hey man, thanks again! I included this song to show you a completely different side of Pink Floyd. No rock stadium, no light show extravaganza, just an intimate setting where it's all about the music (and of course, David couldn't resist a vintage solo 🙂). It's also an opportunity to put Richard in the spotlight, who IMO has always been underappreciated. He was the 'quiet one' in the band, but his talent was an essential ingredient to Pink Floyd. There are a few other Floyd veterans on stage: Dick Parry on saxophone, who's been playing with them since Dark Side, Michael Kamen on piano, who did the orchestration on The Wall, and Sam Brown (red hat) and Claudia Fontaine (far right) in the choir, who were backing singers on Pulse. P.S. A great Pink Floyd song written by Richard is 'Wearing The Inside Out' on the Division Bell album.

There are some that say that Richard was the true heart of Pink Floyd. I would say that the heart has four chambers, but the two I have always identified with most were Richard and David. The other two chambers were the rhythm sections, Nick and Roger. And I love a good bass and drum groove too. But musicality, Richard and David did it all for me. And how can David make a guitar sound like this? How did God create the Universe? And yes, those of us that had the privilege of seeing all these guys live, we sure as hell knew we were experiencing something transcendent.

Ah my favorite reactor back! I was at this gig in 2002, it was part of David's appearance for Robert Wyatt Meltdown concerts who was curator for the festival that year! He brings Bob Geldof out & He sings Roger's part of Crumb.It's a semi acoustic set, great gig! However I'd check out any of his solo songs & particularly the Pink Floyd songs he performs, I'd say the Royal Albert Hall, On an Island or Rattle that Lock, Pompeii as official concerts. I'd check out all the Pink Floyd songs he performed, they are stunning! Check.I throw one in for you. Sorrow ... live in Cheers Fella 👌💎👍

Only thing that's wrong with this song is that its not played enough to the masses there's a serious problem in the world with anger and mental health and music such as pink Floyd if introduced to kids when they're growing up instead of drill rap definately sends that message of love and spirituality into their brains I grew up on rap real rap music not drill music and I appreciate that how it paints a story in your mind it's an art itself all I listened to was rap music then got into reggae then found pink Floyd that's when you get elevated to the next level of music and realise the world we live in is utter bs created for one thing only to make the rich richer.

The first time I experienced this incredible person named David Gilmour, I was 8 years old and my older brother took me to see Pink Floyd perform The Dark Side of the Moon, and needless to say I ha e been an absolute liver of everything Pink Floyd. I have seen them 12 times, including this concert in 1994.
