She is quite small for a purebred Shire horse - she is more the traditional size and weight for a working (farm) horse than a modern riding horse. 😃

There are a lot of variables that go into owning a horse you have to have a lot of property and see if you’re allowed to have them on that property no matter how rural you are pending on what kind of financial situation you’re in sometimes the horse is the most expensive thing to buy well other times it’s the feed and tack and everything else it just depends😢😅

Thank you loads for your comment, very much appreciated. It's amazing what a little 'spook busting' training and re-focusing can do. Using the same methods as you demonstrate in your recent video. Both our horses (Jodie and Louis) look to us for support when they get nervous. We also listen to them and understand that what we ask them to do is sometimes is a big-ask. Being careful not to push them into the panic zone. 😀

Hiya Amber and Izzy. One thing she loves more than carrots is a sweet banana with the skin still on. To be honest, Jodie loves her food. 😀

Hiya M, no neither Jodie nor Louis spooked at the smell or sight of the smoke/fire. They were definitely interested and they did snort a few times. I think Jodie was more interested in watching the Firemen beating the fire out - she could see their silhouettes in front of flames. 😀

Hiya Ravers Mead. Thank you. Yes, the Fire Service had pretty much got the fire under control by the time we moved on. I think it was caused by accident; some young people had been using a camping stove. The grass and heather were very dry so it didn't take long to spread. Everyone was safe. 😀

Lol, I'm just glad that the pair of them don't run off when something frightens them. I'm sure they were not really scared - they were doing it to test us. They do make me chuckle.

Lol, she makes me laugh. Every time I show her something new she just rolls her eyes at me, as if to say, 'What are you up to now'? ❤❤

She goes like a rocket for the first 50 metres, then she slows down to a steady freight-train for 200 metres - and then to the speed of a snail on sedatives for the rest. Whereas, Louis is like a rocket all the time. I think Jodie might have to practice a bit more. Lol. ❤❤

I love the feeling when she goes into canter, I can feel all that energy building up under my seat. She has also got very good brakes which is very reassuring. Aww, thank you Lisa. Jodie is like this all the time. The second I start scratching or grooming her she starts grooming me. She is so gentle as well even when she contacts bare skin. Trust her to bits. 😀
