Also if you flick the control stick up + r1 or up + r2 you can do a kick or jump attack, the kick is really good against shields you can kick it back then attack

Parrying is a skill worth practicing also backstabbing. Try fighting without any armor once or twice and feel the difference in your dodges! Good luck brotha

im on my first playthrough as well, I recommend using the dive for attacking instead of the vengeful spirit. Also trial of fools isn't infinite they just take a while, i'm stuck on the third one :(

The game can be fun and theres nothing wrong if youre actually enjoying it, but yes, the community as you level up and get more competitive (even in in casual mode) the enemies and teammates will eat you alive for the smallest thing or nothing at all

Hey yo, just me again this time with quest tips. For the Liyue ruins quest you were doing at 56:50, there are 4 of them to find in the Guili plains, you've found 1, so 3 more to go (hint: look at the map where you found the first plate, then look for similar looking things on the map). For Dragonspine, the snowy area - it has special mechanics for the region. In order to decrease the cold bar, you can stand next to lit up torches, cooking pots (use Amber's charged up pyro aim shot to light the fires), or follow warm seelies, or activate stone lamps (they are unlit to start with and have glowy orange line patterns see 1:55:53). Regarding the ice - there are two types of ice, ones that you can melt with Amber, and ones that you can't melt (the one surrounding the statue of the seven and the floating ice crystal you were doing for another quest). The ones that you can't melt require you to find and destroy a nearby red crystal (1:55:25), then pick up the crystal buff, then hit the unmeltable ice with an attack. If you press G to open up the tutorials page, you can search for "Scarlet Quartz", "Ancient Rime", "Subzero Climate...". These tutorials are unlocked whenever you find something new in Genshin that needs explanation, remember to regularly press G when exploring new areas! Almost forgot - Congrats on getting new characters! If you're worried about resources and who to invest in - it usually takes a while for a new account to get their first 5 star, so you do want to level a few characters up in the meantime. From a long term perspective, the early character levels do not cost a lot of resources, you can safely level characters up to 60 without worrying about over investing. So start with the characters you like, you will sub some of them out when you get new ones, but Genshin rewards having a diverse cast of characters anyway (think of all the different elemental puzzles) so having different characters you can swap to is generally a good thing.

Just an fyi - the locked weapons are only locked to prevent you from destroying them, you can and should equip it - the purple sword (prototype rancour) on kaeya or traveller is good for boosting physical attack damage (left click + hold left click attacks), alternatively the green sword (skyrider sword) can give energy recharge so it's good for making the character's bursts come back up faster (kaeya ice ring, traveller tornado/rock ring). You should have plenty of ores (Mystic/Fine Enchancement Ores) from opening chests to level them up so get them up to level 20 at least, and combat should feel much better. You can also increase damage using Artifacts, every character can equip 5 artifacts, a flower, feather, sands, goblet and a circlet. Make sure to level a flower on all your characters, because it gives a good chunk of flat attack early game, then for sands, goblet and circlet, rule of thumb is to pick ones with atk%. Some characters scale with different stats (hp%, def% for example) but you don't have any of these yet! The only way to know is to open their talent descriptions and switch to their skill attributes, if it's just a percentage - then that's scaling off attack, if they scale off something different they will say 150% DEF or 150% Max HP etc. flower you can ignore until the enemies start hitting you hard, it gives HP so it will make your characters a little tankier. Also if you prefer the anemo traveller - you can change back to anemo. Just go to a mondstadt statue of the seven, switch to your traveller, and there should be a dialogue option when you talk to the statue to resonate with Anemo. Lastly - to get new characters, check your in game mail box (press escape, on the very left there is a vertical row of icons, look for the mail icon) There are 10 free pulls in there which should at the very least get you a new 4 star weapon or character. To get more currency, do your 4 purple quests (Daily commissions) every day and remember to talk to the Adventurer guild when you've completed all 4. Each quest gives 10 primogems, handing in to the adventurers guild will get you another 20 primogems, in total 60 primogems. You need 160 gems for one pull, and 1600 gems (10 pulls) for a guaranteed 4 star item (weapon or character). You can get a 4 star with less gems depending on luck and this resets your guarantee counter, but you can't go over 10 pulls without getting at least one 4 star item. Once you get through the archon quest in mondstadt and then in liyue, you'll be able to participate in limited time events - these events will be your second way of getting primogems to pull new characters. You also will just gems just by playing the game (opening chests, doing quests etc) but not enough for a reliable income - it's on average 80 chests for one pull so, explore for fun, don't explore for gems.
