This is probably Agnes Martin's most open interview. In most videos, I've so far seen, she's been seemingly terse, guarded, distant. Here, she's in a rather pleasant mood, and I'm happy for her, as she reminisces and finds joy in certain recollections. One of my favorite artists, of all time.
Thank you. I never understood her paintings. Now, I do and I appreciate them and her. What a wise and profound woman, painter, and artist. I feel blessed to have had access to this video. Thank you.
Paintings like this you really have to see in person I think. As opposed to more representational art, work like this puts color and basic form at the forefront. Color has a profound effect on us just like sound and smells. Work like this is meant to have a visceral impact, bypassing the mind and washing over you.
Beautiful documentary. Beautiful person. I have not previously been a fan of abstract expressionism, however, I find her work simultaneously haunting and engaging, almost as if it's hiding something and challenging you to search for "it" if you care to.
Enchanting, captivating, enlightening, sublime … what else is there to say?! Such a nice way to spend my Thursday morning coffee break, thanks again RUclips! 🥰🫶😌✨🌈🌤️🩵
I did not expect this video to resonate so much (artist or not). I’m glad I watched it. It’s amazing how much Agnes Martin reminds me of Abraham Hicks.
Thank you for the grounding
