Why I chose an AirDesign SuSi3 16. I love this wing! - Part 1 of 3
Просмотров 6703 года назад
G'day Legends! it's Nige, AirDesign produce several magic wings. The AirDesign SuSi3 in my opinion is one of the best out there. The AirDesign SuSi 3 is practically EN flight tested... not just towed behind a truck to gain EN 926-1 load test. This ensures the miniwing you fly is made to conform inline with the certification norms. This is not so common in the miniwing category so do you homewor...
Air Design SuSi3 Sizing? Let me help you! - Part 2 of 3

Hi guys it's Nige! I'm based out of Perth, Western Australia and I'm an experienced paraglider pilot. The purpose of this video is to provide you with an overview of my own personal sizing choice within the AirDesign SuSi3 range. Never flown a smaller wing? It's always a great idea to factor up. With a fighting weight of around 84kg, I originally started flying smaller wings on an AirDesign SuS...
Subscribed bud... awesome vids, keep them coming... Magic Mike 👌
Thanks Magic!.... I have been away from the channel way too long... life got in the way however I'm gearing up again and going to dive back into creating more content for YT over the coming months. cheers for coming on board. Watch this space!

Thanks for the footage mate! That was speedily put together!
I still cant beleive I havent been towing yet! Next summer I'll come and get some tow training done and join in the fun.
@@1canstuntman the year may not be over yet mate. Let’s do a few times so we’re ready and good to go when the real record days kick in!
Love, to know the site hours drive from Albany ? How do you get there?
Google lights beach Denmark 👍. Very close to Albany and access via 2nd possible.
Have you flown to other coastal sites nearby? Kilbari cliffs? Do they come on in summer ?
No I haven’t flown Kalbarri. Summer is definitely the time to fly up that way as the winter westerlies do blow out the sites very quickly.
Anybody who loves Creedence and flies mini wings is cool.
W❤️W! Cheers for more awesome and incredible adventures!🥂❤️✨
you guys killing me wish could join you again but i know may be not this year but it will happen again , have a great time again and for anyone who as not done the tour with cloudbase this is the time you will love it those guys a Pro ✌👍
Something tells me that you’ll fly like a boss in your new playground over there in the Philippines!!!! We might not see you this year in Bali but definatly some time soon. Cheers Xavier 👍👍
Great video and perfect for my level of progression. Just starting to do a few short XC flights in the UK. One question. Where can I get one of the red Persian rugs from at the start of your vid. Love it. Keep them coming!!
Hi Steve! I love hearing when someone can take away something from these vids as they are increadibly time consuming to capture and produce. Thank you so much for your positive feed back..... Cant help you with the rug advse mate that was a gift from my mum lol. She'd die if she saw it outside
nice ... bought a sisi with 18 sqm :-)
Nice 👍 The 18 is the perfect allrounder and I still kick myself for selling mine!! Ive just received the brand new Susi4 16 and had the new 2 liner Loco 16 turn up a week later!! The timing is terrible as the flying season is almost over but subscribe and stay tuned as I want to fly and film these epic wings ASAP.
Thank you
I was going to just take off where I do most of my ridge soaring and I have a launch zone and then fly away. There isn't anybody else here flying and I'm just launching off of a farm place that I know somebody. I figured my Chase car could just generally head down wind. Does it work if you just go towards the next thing that looks like lift and don't pay any attention to anything else?
Hi Mark. Its hard to picture your flying site from the breif discription in your question but Ill answer as best I can! You mentioned that you fly from a farm that you ridge soar from so I;m guessing it is hopefully somewhat inland from the coast? This is a good start as catching thermals from coastal site is almost impossible (easy tigers... I said almost lol)... So based on this, you should do your best to ridgesoar until a thermal rolls in and you can establish a good climb out to a height that allows you good options to turn downwind and leave the hill..... This my friend is where you need to fly straight, fly effieciently, minimise use of brakes (rear riser steering is more efficient and reduces drag) until you hit your next source of lift. Now the best way to find the next source can be tackled in 2 different ways.... If you climed high enough to glide for some distance from the hill, you should look at the local clouds and head for any building cumulous clouds which are often tell tales for the thermals that lie below them... they may be above the next ridge line in hilly terrain or perhaps above a plowed field in the flat lands.... If you are not high enough when you leave the hill you should be looking down at the terrain. Look for thermal triggers like the down wind end of a plowed field that maybe lined with trees that will help and heating bubble of air disloge from the ground and climb away.... roads, railway lines, traffic or machinery, buildings and small peaks are all good triggers in releasing thermals from the land. I had limited info to help mate but reach out if this doesnt help. Thanks!
@@1canstuntman yes thanks for that advice it is spot-on. The land here is just kind of wrinkled like a prune. I guess I'm trying to get invited to fly in the better launch zones.(//. It might be a failure. The hills are not very tall here generally. One place I think would be particularly interesting has two Dykes containing a creek. It's about ten metres wide and slopes up a 45 degree angle, spans a giant flat ancient river bottom. I saw Greg hammerton takeoff from flat ground. I thought on a day when the wind was very low,I could get out there and ground handle. Stay for wingspans in front of the dike and just ground handling hope something Plucks you. Do people ever pick up a flat ground without a hill?
Again mate it’s remotely possible but quite unlikely that you’ll have anything come through to that’ll give you the chance to thermal out from a small feature like that. I live in the flattest state of the flattest continent on earth!! This means I need to travel anytime I want to fly. You need to go to where the flying is at mark! Google maps is your freind if there are no “established” or known flying sites in your part of the world. Check for the highest terrain with a good long slope that faces the prevailing wind. This height and wide long slope will give you time to slope soar until the thermals roll through and come up the hill. I tell all my new friends getting into paragliding that the first thing they need to know is “the flying never comes to you…. You need to get to the flying!” Good luck mark and go find that perfect hill! It’s gotta be out there somewhere👍
@@1canstuntman there's one great big hill I know of that had hang glider's taking off, long ago. The school I attend has a winch truck. I get 2000 feet in the air and a great big flat place. My next big challenge is getting a launch and then landing well. I think there are enough hills that a person can accomplish a few foot launches and see if there's a way to catch some lift. I will try things in my area and see if I can get anything to work at all and just keep moving farther away to more promising things. I can probably get a good kilometer the hills around here will have some part that is sloped into the wind. There are a lot of different things within an hour's drive of my house. Something will work.
Hello from turkey ✌🏻
Hello there! Man I gotta get over that way.... Whats the name of the super high take off with beach landing that everyone posts about???? Awesome

That’s the one! Oh man that looks like paradise.
@@1canstuntman glad you like it bro :)
Didn't subscribe! Who watches a 21:19 minute video? 🤣
uuuuum not you? lol. All good bud thanks all the same
I've subscribed!! I would love the Supair delight 3 and fall within the sizing requirements. I have 1CanStuntman, I've even shared to make sure the good word is spread.
Looks nice and neat!
I don't suppose you could recommend a pack size for the L D4 sport, with a concertina folded Large wing and a ski style helmet?
Hi Kendrick. I use a 130 litre airdesign back pack which fits everything you’ve mentioned above plus my camera gear, radio, flight computer and 2 litre camel back. This fits comfortably without having to stress out and zippers etc. hope this helps
That's exactly what I was hoping for, cheers!🤙
I`ve subscribed and I am within the size range.
Awesome idea and pot! 👍1+
What is the pack size of the harness? Height x length x depth. Thank you very much.
Size charts displayed in the video Dan👍
@@1canstuntman thank you for reply. I think I'm stubid, but I don't found a chart where I can see the sizes 😂.. And yes I looked the complete video twice 😂
haha I don't think that at all. The sizing chart comes up on screen at 6m:58s It is the medium harness and the sizing is circled with a yellow highlighter! You'll laugh when you see it and thanks for checking the video out!
@@1canstuntman yeah this size chart for sure. But I'm interessted in the pack size for planing if the delight 4 fits in my backpack😂. For this I need the pack size when the delight 4 is foldet before you put it in to the backpack. This isn't in this chart.. thank you 👍
Looking forward to my 1st used pod, if I am lucky. Thx.
𝕡𝐫o𝕄o𝔰𝓶 😅
Woohoo fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤞
I'm in as well. Your prsentation of the D3 was tempting, let alone the D4, but i'll leave you that... :)
Have you tried the susi with a pod harness? Works surprisingly well 😉
Not the 16 but I did try it on the 18 after a backpack mix up while packing the car lol.
❤
Come on stunt man Mike your my hero…. You can come stay with me in the UK and go flying 😘
When are you doing a giveaway on the CAT? ;) Cheers.
Great work with the channel. That harness will make the winner happy for sure.
Great video.this is a really good review of d4. I would love to have one of this❤
Super!
Brilliant. Informative and helpful! Have only just recently started flying xc and this has been really useful!!
Great to hear! Thanks Paul....
Hope not too late for the draw!? I'm 74kg and 174cm so right in the middle for the Delight 3 M. I've been looking at getting my first pod for a while now. Been torn between the Lightness 3 and Delight 3 or 4. I've been flying the Progress 3 since I started so I'm used to the hammock style with no seat plate, so initially I thought it was a no brainer to go for the Lightness 3. It will probably feel similar to my Progress in terms of hammock feeling. However...many respected people I've spoken to say get a seat plate for better weightshift. Hence looking at the Delight. Interesting to hear that you had a Lightness before the Delight and you prefer the Delight. I think the Delight is top of my list now. And am I right in thinking it can be flown without the seat plate? (Just in case I try the seatplate feeling and decide I hate it!?). Thanks for the opportunity to win yours!!
Hi Paul and thanks for visiting the channel! Good news!.... Its not too late as I am drawing the winner Nov 7th (2 days time). So long as you have subscribed to my channel you are in the draw. You may have not made your subscriptions public so you are not showing up yet, do me a favour and just reply to this message "subscribed" and I'll make sure your name is in the list. You and I fly the same open harness also! I fly the Advance progress 3 as my go to quick flight around the hill harness. If you like the feeling of this split leg harness you love the feeling of the D3. Yes, the D3 has a seat plate though it flies best with it left in. Weight shift authority is dampened without it. I have flown many hours with and without the seat plate fitted and always revert to leaving it in to get the best weight shift authority. You'll find when flying a pod for the first time that they are very different in regards to open harnesses in regards to the effort required to initiate weight shift into and away from a turn. You tend to use your hips alot more and I find pushing off the foot plate helps also. I watched your first cross country video before replying and you look like a great candidate for this harness. Good luck for the draw! Thanks again.
@@1canstuntman yes have subscribed to your channel. Found the switch to turn off keeping subs private so hopefully you can see it now. Thanks for the tips on the Delight!! Fingers crossed for that draw. And looking forward to more of your videos!!
Your in mate. just about to release a teaser for the draw in 2 days time Good Luck!
Kool, can't wait to see the flight review.
Coming up mate👍👍
Just subscribed. Love the video, I'm 182cm and 80kgs so fit the d3 and would love to be in the draw. Keep up the good work. Love your reviews!
Hey Sam! You’re in the draw mate! Thanks for the kind words I’m glad you enjoy the channel! Welcome to the clan and thanks so much for the sub! Good luck👍
Nice vidéo !
Thanks so much Julienne! Thanks for stopping by the channel👍
Ótimo vídeo! Sobretudo agora, com o lançamento da Delight 4 com poucos vídeos disponíveis sobre o harness. Melhor resumo sobre o material e boa fonte para quem pretende adquirir o novo carenado Supair. Great!
Wow, it packs so small... If only my Xr7 could do that :D Also, many thanks for the chance!
Good observation! Looking back at my video I realise I could’ve said so much more and yes, one of those comments I missed was just how small the d4 packs up. Appreciate your input parajunkie and welcome to the channel. You’re in the draw my friend👍
Suitable
D3 M would fit fine! :) Not sure I cought the info: what was the volume of the luggagebag on the back of the sports D4 version?
Hi Orsi. Apologies for not mentioning the actual volume I realise I did miss a few points that after production, I wish I had included. I work around 1000km from my home and have flown back to work so can’t answer this right now. I’m thinking that I might be able to cover some info I missed when I draw the winner early November. Keep and eye out for this video and good luck in the draw. Thankyou and welcome to the channel!
Would love to show this harness summer African scenery and wildlife! Thank you for giving me this chance! Cheers from Kenya
I love that this channel is reaching my African friends all the way from Australia. One of my best xc flying buddies is from Africa so I’d love to send the d3 your way. You are in the draw and Thankyou for subscribing. Fingers crossed👍
My first contact with real playground wings was (also) a SuSi 18m! After a couple short flights, i fell in love with the speed and agility. Also pleasantly surprised by the performance. I still fly B wings just for total peace of mind, but miniwings are definitely worth having! Worth mentioning is the incredibly simple takeoff and handling. Everyone needs to try some more speed, it's a game changer.
Subscribed and commented! Flying a d1 now that needs an update 🙌
