During a recent bird flu epidemic hundreds of thousands of chickens were being slaughtered across the country for no good reason. And then a few swans in the large Abbotsbury flock were found to have the "terrible bird flu". Within a couple of weeks the epidemic had been dropped from the media and it just faded away. And not a single swan was "culled".

This is EU directive , people have crashed the site registering themselves as identifying as chickens and registering plastic wrapped chickens from supermarkets!

ALL the supermarkets need to register the seagulls in their car parks.

What about a couple of Budgies?

I had an email 10/09/24 re DEFRA farming update - September 2024. And it includes chickens kept as pets. If you follow the links to 'register less than 50 birds' it states "if you keep poultry or other captive birds,,,,including birds kept as pets" however do not register budgies parrots, cocktails or finches. If you take birds outdoors, exercised, training, shows etc they must be registered.

What if you have one of the chicken for dinner?😅

I carry a knife virtually all the time, (none locking pocket knife), which is perfectly legal. I also carry a locking or fixed bladed knife when I go shooting. As for forgetting that you have one on you after you've been shooting, this has NEVER been a 'reasonable' excuse. As for carrying in your car, this all depends on the circumstances, if it was in the boot of your car along with other work tools then NO... the CPS would not prosecute this... I know this because I'm an ex-copper that dealt with knife crime on a regular basis and have presented numerous cases to the CPS. The banning of 'Zombie' knives is no bad thing; I don't think it will have any impact on knife crime, but they are stupid things and anybody that 'collects them is a can short of a six-pack. As for comparing the ban to that of handguns I think that's misleading. The handgun ban came on the back of the murder of sixteen children and their teacher and the wounding of fifteen other children... carried out by a lunatic with four legally held hand-guns, it was the worst shooting incident in UK history and was carried out by a legal gun owner... not a criminal gang member. this isn't America, I don't think there is any place for handguns in the UK (other than humane dispatch use by stalkers), or antique muzzle loaders etc. 99% of handguns are designed for one thing only and the UK is not the place for them. If you carry a knife when you go shooting etc. you have nothing to worry about. this ISN'T a law aimed at the shooting world, it's a bit of bullshit by the government that want to try and look tough on knife use. what they really need to do is introduce a 5 yr starting point for carrying a knife without lawful excuse with discretion to be applied by a judge if it's some forgetful stalker that left his skinning knife in his pocket when he went to pick up a bottle of milk.

Ian as a former Southend Resident I witnessed many a person carrying Knives I even used to talk to people who carried them. They were foreign too funnily enough. The last one I spoke to was a Bosnian who came over as a refugee. He was in a long Mac and dancing around the pub with his coat flying open at the waist on his hip was a 3ft long Machete. I warned him about carrying such a knife along the golden mile and into pubs because if he got stopped by the police he would be in prison for yrs. His answer was that won't happen because the police knew him and had seen the machete kept on his hip. The action they took was oh your carrying a knife but because you've come from a war zone don't worry we're gunno let you carry it. So basically knowing Southend police they simply don't care about what happens on Southend seafront the station is only open from 9 to 5 anyway

Close to where I live is an old English Civil War Period Battlefield on Acid Soil Marshland. With a Metal Detector, you can dig up Lead Musket Balls and they weigh the same as a new same sized Lead Ball. Conclusion, no deterioration of the Lead Ball in the Centuries since they were fired. That should tell anyone what they need to know about the stability of Lead in the environment. It also looks to have been a mistake taking Lead out of petrol, as Lead in the Air has gone up not Down in places where the lead content was measured pre ban.So serious question, was lead in fuel combining with Lead in the Air, only to result with Lead turned into a harmless ceramic in the Combustion Chambers, before tumbling harmlessly to the ground on exiting the exhaust pipe? 🤔 Seems to me, that we are being fed Lies dressed as Science that has been leading to wrong Policies from Governments for a very long time now, and in the West, it is now very difficult to identify a Field of Science which hasn’t been badly affected by this what can only be described as- Lysenkoism < look it up. I used to get every Science Journal that was available every month, but their Content had become such a pile of Junk Science, that I stopped wasting my money on them by the mid 1990’s a couple of years before the Financial Times sold out and became a junk rag as well. That Reality should have become clear to everyone when the BBC Cut the Tomorrows World Programme in 2003, because there was no way the presenters were going to sell out for them. Same for David Bellamy who was laid off for telling the truth which clearly the BBC can’t handle.RIP David, you are missed.❤

Glad to see you alive and well and back on You Tube again. On the lead front, I admire your tenacity, (we just beg to differ on the science); however, that aside, I would comment that we should be careful hinging the defense of led on the 'humane' kill basis; the reason being as follows. If 90% of the shooting community have accepted/folder (whatever your view) and agree that led usage must end, and we then say that 'steel' isn't humane, then we open the door to invite the anti- brigade to call for a complete ban on the shooting of live game on the basis that it isn't 'humane' and if this were to succeed then that 'will' be the final nail in the coffin for shooting! Shooting IS on a decline, (sadly), but this is a social shift in views/thoughts more than anything else, (wokeness if you like). Kids don't play in the woods and shoot catapults and air guns anymore. We all had air guns didn't we, but how many kids have one on their Christmas list these days? I agree 100% that led is the best medium and Ill be upset when they end led bullets (being a keen rifle man). As for, 'shot' well.... again, led is best... but I am a crap shot with the 12g so for me I just let them come in closer and go up in shot size and they drop just the same. The days of high bird .410 shots are disappearing and certainly, some of the older guns will need to be retired, but the led ban isn't the biggest issue for shooting that I can see... it's the decline in social acceptance and the fact that people have lost touch with where our food comes from. I totally agree, it’s the reason I’ve held off from buying a new Fx Wildcat/ Wolverine R for the last 4 years. This Lead fiasco has been compounded by not only the shooting organisations but also the shooting media/u tubers and magazines who think it’s been a good idea to say very little because “we don’t know what’s happening yet” and worst still the idiots that think it won’t be so bad or say we will just get used to it. So the blame doesn’t just stop at the organisations door.

You’re absolutely spot on I’ve said the same from the beginning, BASC caved in over lead from the very start they’re absolutely useless in my opinion. 🙄
