In our days it's no more a big difference. Top 2 : In municipal and puplic bathrooms showers are still fixed above your head. Top 3 : A german rule says from O till O (first O means Ostern, german Easter, second is just October) use Summer tires then change. Top 4 : It's a normal german behavior. Bicycles are normal vehicles in Germany and we use them to go shopping, working or fitness.

A lot of (older) people ride pedelecs, so you will not get exhausted. These bike got an electric accumulator, they might be a little bit heavy (round about 25 kilogram), but in my region- Bavaria, near to the alps - there are a lot of hills, up and down.

Because of our history, we germans have a high sensitivity for the rights people have. We had, under Hitler, a situation in wich everybody could get a victim of the regime. Without telling the reasons a person could get into jail, psychiatry, and more dark places. People got killed because they had psychological illness and so on. So the German rights for the "weak" ones are very high. Refugees for example belongs to this group. It makes sense that they are not, at the first sign of something, got hit with the full hard of law. But over the years, this "nice"behavior from our government, has let the people think that they can do everything without any consequents. Our sensbility for the "weak" made us weak against the trolls, the clans, the ones wich came to our country without noticing how cool and great life is when the government is not after you. And I feel so damn sad that this great, democratic country will loose this sensitivity and be just hard against the weak... this we had before and everybody knows how it endet.

You can't compare that with other continents. There have been civilizations in Europe for thousands of years. Germany has many castles. But all other countries in Europe also have many castles and manor houses. France, England, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and all the other monarchies in particular have been closely intertwined for centuries. The Vatican also had its power everywhere. Its influence and wealth can still be seen in many cities today.
