149 bhp Nissan Micra K11 ITB Throttle body build walk through
A run-through of what parts were needed to get my early K11 to run on ITB's
the car made 149hp at the flywheel / 125hp at the wheels when it was mapped in March '21
very happy with the results

    Great video thanks for all the insight in to the mods done, is this all on the standard bottom end? Impressive if so revving out to 8k - what you have is similar to what I’d like to build, though ideally I’d like to get some decent rods (not found a supplier as yet), have the crank bladed/wedged, flywheel like yours then have the lot balanced; I’m hoping that lot would give something you could rev to >8k safely but not found much info on the internet… lastly please get some videos of it under load, she sounds great!

    0,5mm skim on the head? From a stock 9.5 C/R on a steel 0,5mm Nismo gasket you would have a C/R of 10.5. So this is probably around that.

    I found the same timing my 774 cams for my mini's cg13de, I was able to create some adjustable cam gears (sort of) by giving an old cam and standard cam gears to a machinist he was able to use an indexing head to rotate 3 teeth and add 2 crank degrees, 1 cam degrees, and drill a hole for the dowel, 6 holes spaced evenly gives up to 6 degrees of advance and retard, each tooth changes 15 degrees I think so further changes could say advance 1 tooth and retard 4 degrees, 15 - 6 = 9 degrees of advance. It's easy enough to move the gears that you could tune cam tming on the dyno, a bit more precise and reversable compared to filing the dowel pin. Just an idea if you want to tune cam timing.

      @@neilbeckwith567 a local machinist was able to drill 6 new dowel holes with 2 degree (camshaft degrees) offsets so I can advance / retard 2, 4, and 6 degrees if you want more adjustments you can start moving the tooth the chains on, one tooth is something like 13 degrees.

    Hey cool Video! If you could choose between the 1.3L CG13 or the 1.4l CGA3 Engine, which would you choose for a high power/rpm N/A engine? Thank you

    • @bashracing5249
      @bashracing5249 3 года назад

      The CG13 has stronger pistons and will make more power with supporting mods due to a being able to rev higher, but for a budget (ish) build, the CGA3 bottom end is good as the longer stroke gives a little more torque and will handle 7k rpm pretty easily, for ultimate spec a built 1400 forged bottom end from IK Engineering is the way to go

      @OppaiGeek you'll need to bore the cylinder out 1mm but yes is's possible, I would have a look into fitting the pistons from the 1.0l engine though as they are direct fit and raise the compression of the 1.3 giving a good cheap power increase

      I've got one in my mini, I've chopped my bulk head out and moved it back about 25mm but have got around 40mm gap between my manifold and front of mini. So didn't really need to do the mod to the firewall. I have got a flip front tho I very much doubt you would get one in the standard body without cutting inner arches and that sorta thing.

    Hey mate, what power are you running with the inlet and the cams

    • @bashracing5249
      @bashracing5249 7 лет назад

      The SM inlet didn't work very well with the 438's as torque was a flat 150 lb/ft, where as with the standard inlet and 438's we managed 166lb/ft, both set ups produced around 190hp give or take 0.5 hp, we concluded that the sm inlet had too short inlet runners to create the torque we needed, end result is that it looked good but didn't do the business, no matter what some will lead you to believe.
