I was the crew chief of 70-2409, which is the bird shown at the beginning with the pilot doing a walk-around. The video wasn't shot during the time 409 was mine because my name isn't on the nose gear door.

The super phantom upgrade would have been perfect for the F-4G Wild Weasel. It had no direct competitors, the Navy prowler was the only other aircraft capable of performing the same mission . The super phantom would have been able to carry a full load of HARM anti radiation bombs and still have the range to complete the mission.

I was at this airshow and remember it well. I remember that aircraft was in the static display and it was towed down through the crowd to a starting ramp where the pilot and engineer went around it with a screwdriver, then started it up and did a full display. I remember the wing just going over the top of my head i could not believe how close i was to it. Just Imagine if that happened today with a Russian SU-27.
