it's for a glitch called deadloading that lets you remotely activate items. here's a longer explanation if you want it. at 4:50 he falls, takes damage, and saves in front of the door (we'll call this save 1). when he wants to warp, he makes a quicksave (save 2,) loads save 1 and then loads save 2, which unloads arkay's blessing and causes him to die during the loading screen, and that activates player controls and lets him open the door during the loading screen. this makes it so that instead of going through the door with save 1's character, he goes through the door with save 2's character.

You can avoid the barrier because it only checks your position every three seconds. There's a way to time your jumps so that you are never out of bounds when it checks

rain fire robots come around every 2 minutes so every run before this one was an entire 2 minutes behind me going into the last 6 minutes of the run

⁠@@DankSlushieSo the cycles are counting the number of times the robots walk the map, or just that you got rain fire at the 29 minute mark? Also, you made that jump at 1:30 look easy. Been trying to get it myself and keep hitting the death barriers! I got up there once and a zombie pushed me right off. I’m gonna keep practicing. Never seen that skip before and can’t find anyone else doing it.

You can use a timer, the death barrier strikes every 3 seconds but you can avoid it by timing your run between strikes. Also you go on the second before a multiple of 3 and each character has a different offset: D 0.20, N 0.35, R 0.50, T 0.65. For example Takeo would go on 1:14.65 on LiveSplit

​@@felexs7803 It takes a lot of practice to get used to and still ends runs fairly often. A good way to practice is to freeze the zombies with a mod menu and try the jump over and over with your timer on
