William Zepeda vs Maxi Hughes - Fight Recap
Alex was wondering if Holmes got bigger later in his career. Yes he did. He weighted around 235, 240 during his comeback. He even got to weight until 250 plus but it was very late in his career when he wasn't taking care much of his shape at that point.
Wrong!
Big time wrong 🤣
I'm puzzled by how Ryan's use of substances travelled from Ryan's body through space and time to affect Haney's defense, movement and IQ. I mean, Haney looked like an amateur. Those chemicals that Ryan took should be sold to militaries around the world. As for the rankings, they all have flaws because they have different measuring standards. Peofino lost to Ortiz and now is fighting a 7-loss guy so is he really #1? I don't think so. Russell is listed below McComb? I don't think so. Catterall and Lemos belong up there. Matias on top? Sure, he's earned it. We'll see what happens in the upcoming fight.
Thanks for your comeents. Good call on Haney's abilities, and a lot being made of it due to the testing issues Garcia's run into.
Good stuff, fellas. Great assessment. 🥊
Fun stream, fun fight! Leave your scorecards and any comments on the fights we've discussed.
I remember watching this fight Oscar tuneup fight before a Bernard Hopkins fight offer. Oscar took sturms lightly and got outworked

the russian destroys the gypsy clown
I have Tyson Fury winning. Fury will jab Usyk with more weighty jabs than Usyk has ever been jabbed to the face. The shots to the body and jabs to the face will set up Fury to land some power shots. Moreover, I see Fury's combinations and repeated power punches will have more weight than any other opponent that Usyk has faced. AJ is good and powerful; however, AJ just telegraphs his motion -- something that a good boxer like Usyk can avoid or prepare for. Tyson Fury, on the other hand, isn't a conventional fighter. His feigns, head movement and very odd jabs and punches will be difficult for a technical fighter like Usyk. This might confuse Usyk as much as Fury confused Klitschko. After all, Fury doesn't "telegraph" his shots -- and he will use his size and weight to bully Usyk.
As for how Fury wins: I actually have him winning by stoppage. I just think that Fury will land some power shots to Usyk's head that will accumulate with those heavy jabs. Usyk has never been knocked out. However, he has avoided accumulated head shots throughout his career. I just don't think that he will avoid them against Fury. They will accumulate and slowly stun Usyk. Now, I can also see Usyk winning too. Fury had trouble against Cunningham -- a smaller and faster fighter. Usyk is very strategic and an effective counter-puncher too. Ultimately, though, I think that Fury has fought fast and smaller boxers similar to Usyk. But, Usyk has never fought someone as big, heavy yet strong and versatile like Tyson Fury.
@@ccchhhrrriiisss100 Appreciate your comments, very good assessment. It is all about how Usyk can deal with the sheer size, and style of Fury. A very intruiguing match up. Looking forward to it!
Usyk gets better in the last 3
Look at AJ v Usyk 2 times he can fight bigger men
Look at their last 4 fights it shows the difference
The output stats show usyk in every way
Can he do it against someone with the size and skillset of Fury! It's a very interesting question. Cannot wait!
Holyfield v Lennox Lewis
Long time ago!
Fury via total anilhiation
That's a bold call!!
Casual alert 🚨 😂

143-141. I had Holmes winning. Spinks Holmes 2 1 8 10 2 9 10 3 9 10 4 9 10 5 9 10 6 10 9 7 10 9 8 10 9 9 10 9 10 10 9 11 9 10 12 10 9 13 10 9 14 9 10 15 10 9 It is crazy how different this fight started vs the first fight. I had it even after 13. I made round one 10-8 because of the massive discrepancy in punches thrown. You can't do nothing and expect a 9. After the first four rounds, it's like Holmes gassed. Spinks did not seem to even start punching until round 5, then Spinks just threw a lot more and seemed to land a lot more. I respect Holmes jab and superior power but you need to do more to win rounds. He has nobody to blame but himself. "Looks like he can't hurt holmes" and "not phased by it" Sure- but what the hell was Holmes doing besides no-selling spinks' power punches? Not until round 14 did Holmes finally show some aggression. Finally. Note: Most would not give a 10-8 round one and I get that. In that scenario, Spinks earns the draw because of round 15.
Thanks so much for your comments! This was a long while back we watched this fight, but I'm glad you scored along with us and explained your card, this is great! Hopefully, you can catch a livestream with us as it happens. Love to have your input as we watch & score live.

How do you all see this one going?
Naoya Inoue God gifted power man fighter & Handsham gentilman talented honesty fighter
it's crazy how many people bite on when mayweather plants a few seeds. inoue has been in usa, fought good opposition there. he fights in japan because he can fill out bigger stadiums and sell more tickets, ask usa why they don't care about smaller weight classes
make no mistake by the way, this wasn't a talking point before he beat fulton and suddenly a ton of people tried to discredit him.
@@lusteraliaszero He's doing something right!
It's so odd that there's people out there that didn't know that Inoue have fought in USA before...I'm assuming they are hardcore fans of boxing, YET, they're so dumb to insinuating that Inoue never fought in USA before...I'm not even a hardcore and even I know he fought in USA before.. I also didn't realize how dumb and stupid Floyd Mayweather Jr was because he too say Inoue need to come to USA, but Inoue already have fought in USA before...MAN, why are these people so stupid and dumb, lol
For every professional sport, including boxing. You don’t get into combat sport and fight for free. The US doesn’t support and promote the lower weight divisions like Japan. That’s why many fighters have to travel to get paid. If the US present the same or bigger market than Japan, Inoue will come to fight.
U right if USA pay better naoya will come like him said.
Very true!
Sold out 55,000 Tokyo Dome in one day, apparently.
That is impressive! A huge star over there.
122 not 126 lbs.
Correct. Silly mistake.

I think they should call Subriel 'Honey Badger' Mathias especially with his tenacity and the hair cut. He sure fights like it. 😂😂😂😂😂
115-113 to Medina, every close round I could give to Tapia, well, was given to Tapia
Let us know how you all scored it! My scorecard - Johnny Tapia vs Manuel Medina 112 - 116
Haney will just run above the ring🤣🤣🤣
New favorite channel no doubt! Let’s hear take on 5v5 matchroom queensberry rivalry! Pls 🙌🏽
Appreciate your comments! Thoughts on the 5 vs 5 are coming!
To expand on these points: I think the main issue is that there are 10 points available but we've got to a state where it's impossible to utilise them. Somewhere along the lines it became the norm to award only a 10-9 round, until there are knockdowns then start deducting more. But how's this for a comparison: Round 1 fighter A is landing plenty of scoring shots, he's wobbled a few times and fighter B is having to hold. He doesn't go down. 99% of the time this would be a 10-9 round, where it could probably be a 10-8 round. Round 2 it's much closer. A cagey round, nothing much happening. But then after a bit of tangled feet, fighter B lands a pushing jab, and fighter A slightly off balance touches down. He's not at all hurt, it's a balance thing. But It's ruled a knockdown. 8-10 to fighter B. So now after 2 rounds, the dominating fighter from round 1, and a very close round 2 is actually down on the points when that isn't actually the reality of the fight.
The interesting thing about our round winning margin metric is this equates to displaying how close or wide a round is, a so determines a more true reflection of each round and it wouldn't be strangled by the developed limitations of the 10 points system we see that exists. While this winning margin metric does favour harder hitting punchers, more likely to have their opponents in trouble and so more likely to win by wider margins I think it reflects how fights are actually going. A boxer with more limited power relies on outboxing their opponent, and so could still win a clear, on a wide margin if you use the % slider in a logical, reasoned and most importantly consistent way.
Yes, your example is why I try to think of improvements to a round scoring system. To use an MMA example (because 3 rounds is easier), many times what happens is Fighter A gets the nod in two of the rounds which were so close nobody is sure who won, and Fighter B clearly wins the other round (but doesn't get a 10-8), so Fighter A wins the fight even though with an overall (not rounds-based) fight score Fighter B would have won.
@@mevrabel2 Yeah makes sense.
Here's fair within the 10 point must system: Flip a coin and decide who gets heads and tails. The guy who gets heads gets the first close round and then the other guy gets the next close round et cetera
Ha! Maybe this is what some judges do, given some of the wild scores we get!
I think round scoring is flawed (especially in MMA with far fewer rounds) and would prefer an overall score at the end of the fight: Judges simply give the win to Fighter A or B without any score. (Or call it a draw.)
But they need to come to that decision in some way? Surely that leads to even more risk of judges simply deciding on the wrong winner, without having to do any explanations as to their reasoning behind it. The 10 points system, in a way doesn't need explanations either, but this is where our scoring system tries to add that part in with the need to show how close rounds were with the % slider and the need to select a valid reason why the round was won. This adds some transparency and effectively as a judge, it's a snapshot of their mindset in that moment to explain what fight they are seeing.
Don't understand how chavez don't have a scratch, but anyways Taylor just had to run last round ,his corner told he needed to win last round
He had tough skin, among the main advantage he had.
in his prime Chávez a have crocodile skin
'promo sm'
Alex was on point.
Ayyyyeee!!!
He list the names people demanded for him to fight then because he doesnt fight 1 fighter ... he says come on dont support this man?... 😂😂😂 he shouldn't be talking boxing.. while canelo was doing all that... what has benavidez done since he became a champion after 2017? Nothing... never unified and fought no one big. Stop it. When canelo fight benavidez and beats him every one will name another fighter... smh
