Nice video, thanks. Ladner is a nice little village. But "30 minutes from downtown Vancouver"? Well, maybe at midnight. It's at least 45 minutes on Saturday morning! :) My three favourite things in Ladner are the Riefel Bird Sanctuary (oddly not mentioned), the Nerd Feeder store, and the festivals.

I love this area, we lived here north of McGill for 12 years until we recently. It's reminiscent of the 1980s. Neighbourhood potlucks at the park, Christmas caroling, front yard concerts, Halloween parade... I can't imagine there's anywhere else like it.

I grew up in Kits, right across from the beach. Once upon a time, Vancouver, including Kits, was an affordable place to live. But no more. The ruinous cost of accommodation has made places like Kits an enclave for mostly the wealthy. A middle class family (like mine was when I was a kid), wouldn't get a sniff in a hood like that nowadays. Not that it's so great nowadays. Kits has been corporatized to within an inch of its life. A truly deplorable state of affairs.
