Really enjoyed seeing all the different placements. Your final set up looks great. I liked it next to the book cafe (fun whole). Have a look at Pantasy - Sherlock Holmes set as it looks great next to the book cafe also. I am thinking the three of these would look great perhaps with maybe one extra modular to break up the color? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Think I might have to get the bakery now…

Great video, and so happy more people are mixing the brands. Companies like Pantasy and FunWhole deserve some love from the brick community for their great contributions. You've convinced me to pull the trigger on the bakery, and put it right next to my Boutique Hotel. Happy building!

Not sure if you are aware of Bevins Bricks but his channel is awesome and he sells lighting components that he makes himself.

Pantasy Bakerie is not the same quality as the other two.

I think the best combination would be - Parisian Restaurant - Pantasy's Bakery Shop - FunWhole's Book Cafe on the right (as you displayed it at 27:24).

Thank goodness someone thought to do a cross-brand video like this. Most channels just show different Lego modulars next to each other and miss out on a lot of interesting combos.

FO is amazing! Their price point is great, integrated lights, and printed pieces.

I thought your corner Jazz Club worked best on the left, just because it gave a bit of an alleyway between the buildings. I do think the Tudor Corner works perfectly with it on the right. I have the Antique Store and it's also very imposing beside Lego modulars and hard to fit in. Another great fun video, thanks 😊

Thanks Ali. I love these "what modulars go well together" videos. I don't have the Pantasy Bakery (great brand/have others of their sets) but even with modulars I have I'm too lazy to do comparisons myself. 🙄 😁

Seeing Julia Carpenter turn up in anything, whether it's films or Lego, is a heck of a treat. I remember her first appearance in the UK Secret Wars comic. Spider-Man stealing her look; almost a shame her torso isn't more neutral. I wouldn't be surprised to see her in a magazine bag later in the year (c.f. Venom-Goblin), but maybe without the dual-molded legs. I'm going to pick up a Syndrome torso to swap over the dual-molded arms. I saw a black van with the Venom spider across the back doors the day this was revealed. Everything Is Nerds :)

Funwhole sets are great! Good designs, good instructions, good brick quality. And of course the lights! I built last year's Farm Truck which I got on a deal (seems like Funwhole is always having deals) and it's a great little set.

I have the Chilli Dog Trailer. I also hope they make other small food and accessory trailers. That would be really cool to set up a little market area. You need to be sponsored by Funwhole so you can tell us of upcoming sets that we can get excited for 😂

Recently found your channel, I like your collection! I’m actually looking at that newsstand as well. Particularly because Lego pushed another devious GWP with their new Tudor corner..I want to compare the two and honestly I think the FO newsstand runs circles around the Lego GWP one. Basically I’m gonna do what you did in your city haha

Good overview of smaller sets. . I have The Newstand (also my first FunWhole set). I want the Chili Dog Trailer. Small to medium sets are essential -- so when money's tight one can still get something to enjoy...or when display space is limited...or to fill-in open areas in a city. I'm waiting on FunWhole's Graffiti Bus Stop (to be followed by a bus I hope). As to medium sets I love their Tailor Shop and Water Mill -- and their latest: Bee Farm. Taking a post-holiday break to let money coffers rebuild, lol -- but eventually. Thanks Ali.

You're slowly converting me! I used to be a real Lego purist, but I'm seriously considering getting a Fun whole set now!

The skate shop, and spin records work well with the LEGO diner set because they are all models of North American urban buildings like those you’d find in New York City or Toronto.

The culture! Funwhole has urban/hip hop culture. I’m a Lego purist and I haven’t wanted to mix other bricks into my city…until now. The cultural diversity is irresistible with this one and I just ordered it!

This was such a cool idea. I've been seeing a few of your reviews and even commented once, but after this video, I will be subscribing. Love your energy and openness to trying alt brands. Also, I would love it if Funwhole made a comic book store set.

The extra floor fits in perfectly with the other buildings now. I did feel it was lacking this when I built it. Hopefully FO will take note and ensure all their buildings are 3 storeys high, even if it means they are slightly dearer. Great job! 😊

That extra floor looks great. I like how people keep going back to that Bro Thor set for flavour builds. Real Men Behaving Badly vibes. The proportions of the expanded building work really well. Like the America I see in my mind's eye. Oddly, I'm looking to make a comic shop out of the Townhouse Toy Store. I thought about adding a second floor, but it wouldn't look right, especially with the flat (or 80s-style Peter Parker apartment!). Speaking of, what was that about custom comics tiles? I've been thinking of just using the Vidyio BeatBits, maybe some Lego box/comic art I've scanned or drawn myself.

As usual I enjoy your ideas and insights Ali. I was not aware of the Thor bro apartment -- spot-on MOC for Skate Shop interior! OMG -- the "Banksy" art absolutely rocks! Perfect! I believe the next Street Fusion set is confirmed -- the Graffiti Bus Stop. There is also a rumored Boxing Club (hinted in signage in Skate Patk). I love the FunWhole Street Fusion line (I need to get the Chili Dog Trailer). Thank you.

Just finished the Tudor Corner but I have noticed these sets. I am interested in several of these, but would probably start off with the Antique Shop. I think this will get Lego's attention if it already hasn't. The quality looks on par with Lego, the buildings are attractive, the lights appear not difficult and actually integrate into the set, and it is cheaper. They also can blend in with other Lego sets and there are no stickers. As soon as the budget allows, I am going to try one. If this catches on, and I suspect it might as more people discover this, my hope is that Lego will be forced to price more competitively. Having competing brands like this that can match quality is a huge win for the consumer.

I have ordered the Sherlock Holmes Baker Street apartment from Pantasy and I plan to place it next to the Tudor's corner and the Cada's London Underground Station - all three of them would make a great British street imho :)

I just received my Skate Shop and Record Store sets. Looking forward to the next two sets from this theme as well as the Twilight Motel :) FunWhole are really releasing some amazing sets - they are fresh, edgy and original.

Great video. Just for info, I saw another RUclipsr saying that when lifting each floor off, you need to tip up the opposite side to the wireless connection and this will release the wireless bricks from each other. I was going to try it with the antique store I have but it's in the attic at the moment and it's a little chilly up there with this freezing weather we're having at the moment 😂. Maybe you could try it and see if it works. This set will be my next purchase at the end of the month 😊

Hi how much did you pay for the record shop? I dont think it is that much cheaper than the Tudor which I think is a stunning build from Lego

Great review. This and a lot of the other Funwhole sets really highlight how conservative and stale Lego design tends to be and how exciting the hobby can be when a company takes a fresh look at an old brick genre and consciously tries to breathe new life into it. A great set, period, and the price being so much lower than Lego is just icing on the cake.
