If you're not crashing and your temps are ok after your average gaming session time you're just fine... I prefer to be as cool as possible so for me I generally just stick to pbo auto and expo... I don't like going crazy with it because hey i prefer long life vs a few extra MHz but to each your own 🤷‍♂️

somethings not right there, cooler is 100% not doing its job.

I have same high temps with 9800X3D when loading and its perfectly normal with this chip. It can use 140W power spikes when loading shaders in games but in game it uses much less power. Cinebench R23 with noctua NH-D14 cooler my temps are hitting 95C (140-145W) but lowering curve optimizer to -30 and keep stock clocks temps are 85-90 (125W-130W). I have had zero crashes so far...

@@darrenjk5438 its normal temps. My chip is idle ~40C. There is nothing wrong with your temps.

I didn't experiment with scalar on Ryzen 5000 and 7000 series. If you can achieve the same results without it, then great. We should all be happy with gaming at 5.2GHz right out of the box and have a fantastic experience without the need for any additional overclocking.

I apologize, I don’t play Naraka. However, in games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry 6, and The Callisto Protocol, it achieves 107, 134, and 205 FPS respectively, on the highest settings with ultra ray tracing at 3440x1440p and 120Hz when paired with the R9 7900XTX. This processor will run games smoothly at 1080p with any mid-range GPU.

@@marcomini it will be more than OK, but it depends on which processor platform you are upgrading from.

i tried -40. crash, -35 crash after mutiple test, -33 also the same crash. -30 been gaming and testing for days. seems stable. guess i was lucky.

I'm merely guiding here; every chip and system varies. The cooling solution is a factor as well. It's my understanding that these processors were designed with low power consumption in mind, allowing for overclocking potential.

Mine is -40 OCCT stable. Max out around 81c using OCCT with a custom loop. R23 I max out around 70. Idle low 30's.

@@hefnyxtotally agree here. I just started tinkering with mine and I’m at -100 negative on curve optimiser at +200mhz at 74c. Every chip is different.

@@whateverdie Try running RAM at default 2133 or 2400 to make sure the instability is not coming from RAM. If it is not RAM the dial down the overclock to 4.2GHz and lower the voltage as well.

That's a good question! Well, things were very fine with this Ryzen 1700, an 8 core CPU as you know, so no temperature increase in a year. However, it was a different story with the Threadripper 2990WX, a 32 core processor. The liquid metal really dried after 6 months, and I noticed when it was impossible to overclock all 32 cores to 4GHz. The same happened with the R9 5900X. So with high core ccount CPUs, I advise you to use high quality paste like ARCTIC's MX-5 or Thermal Grizzly's Kryonaut to avoid the hastle.

You can on your own risk. The conductonaut will bond with the copper plate in time, check our video on it. You may consider a cooler with nickle plated copper base like be quiet! silent loop 2...

The pack does not come with a fan hub. You have to connect the fans to the headers on your motherboard, and control their speed from bios or software.

It was OK, some of the liquid metal chemically bonded with the AIO's copper plate, but nothing is eaten and or destroyed. Temps were still great.

Sorry, we did not test this board before. We can fully recommend the Tomahawk as having the best balance between price and performance.

Try the Game Boost feature as you see in this video, if you are using the same MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX. I think it will clock the 2700 to 4.125 GHz all cores. But then then, like this video, check the voltage setup and try to lower it till you reach stability. The average is 95fps, P1 is 68fps.

The rated boost clock for R7 3700X, which means if you run Cinebench single core for example, one of the cores will hit 4.4GHz while others will run at 3.6GHz. If you run Cinebench multi core you will hit 3.8GHz on all cores. Maybe you can hit 4.3 all cores in lightweight multithreaded workloads.

I'm running this same clock you suggested on my msi tomahawk b450 max Intel burn test says it's stable I was running 4.4 at 1.3875 volts and was stable but didn't feel stable playing certain games.

@@thetechanalyst8411 nope... Running on Nvidia GPU RTX2060 MaxQ. Low settings. Benchmark spits out average of 21fps. During game play (I'm about an hour into the game) average fps on high is around 95fps... Not sure if the benchmark is set to an extreme?

Our chip's boost clocks rarely hit 4.4 and for a second, usually 4.325 in exchange between two cores.
