Meet Our Rescue Calf!
We cannot believe we have the opportunity to rescue animals and either rehabilitate them or give them a new home that will love and care for them. In this particular case we rescued a baby calf and she is now past weening. So we finally wanted to show her off cause she is full of energy and about ready to be moved out to pasture.

    I'd install the roost boards so the broad side of the board was face up. This gives chickens and turkeys a more comfortable space to rest their body weight over more of their feet (rather than wrapping their 'toes' around the slim side and putting all the body weight on one part of the foot).

    I thought you move cows with horses or dogs? I never heard of a golf cart. Im just a city girl, not sure how I ended up here. Probably cuz I was looking up duck ponds..LOL

    • @TribalAcres
      @TribalAcres 2 года назад

      Most of the time yes. However I really move the cows with there trough. It’s just much easier pulling it with a vehicle lol. They come when they are called and follow me from there. For our normal pasture to pasture moves for rotation I call them and open the fence and they will come right through. So a golf cart is not usually needed. We do have a blue heeler for special moves tho.

    • @TribalAcres

      Hello, Once they realize the fence is electric they will not fly over. If they fence is not on and they figure it out they will fly over though.

    • @TribalAcres
      @TribalAcres 2 года назад

      Hey Ms. Martha. Great question. Thanks for watching. They are chicks and in there for up to three weeks, It’s fully enclosed to protect from drafts as many chicks don’t survive that. When they are out of the brooder they are moved to pasture where they will receive plenty of Sunlight, grass, and bugs.

      Thank you. It's our heart to help people. No matter where they are at or have been, everyone deserves another chance, after all He's the God of a million or billion chances. Thankful for His Grace and this farm. We want everyone to experience grace, and experience freedom. I'm sure we'll catch flack for it, but it's worth it. We want to minister to Jesus and to help people while taking care of the land.

    How much of the grass are they eating? Is having them on pasture cutting down on the amount of feed any at all?

    • @TribalAcres
      @TribalAcres 2 года назад

      They eat pretty much all the grass in the area before being moved. It cuts feed down around 1/4 less per feeding. But, the greatest importance to this is the grass and bugs affects the quality of the meat and it keeps them in a clean area. Hope this answer helps. Thank you
