    very nice painting. Great lesson. And it's true! You can get too absorbed in your technique and go too far. You didn't. lol But my husband always says it takes to people to paint a piece of art. The second person is there to tell you when your done.

    Looks great!! I have been trying to paint these exact waves in perspective like you have for a sunset painting of a photo. I assume I will need to use more or a grey blue mix of prussian blue and perylene violet, adding purplish pink mix along with quinacridone coral / yellow mix for calm water and ripple shadows along with the blue at foreground?

    Do I have to worry about ruining the bristles on my brush for the dry brush technique? Or are they typically designed to handle that type of friction?

    • @paperandbrushart8000
      @paperandbrushart8000 4 года назад

      I tend not to worry about it. I usually do the dry brush technique with a smaller brush, like a #2 round, and that is relatively inexpensive to replace. One thing you could do is have one brush that is reserved for dry brush and then another brush of the same size that you use when you want a nice clean point.

    I was really surprised how "aggressive" my yellow was next to my black. It even traveled through the purple and blue beneath.
