It might be. I'm not sure.
Thank you so much! It seems to be the recording of 1951. I am Russian and it seems to me to be the best rendering of the concert, truly in the tragic feeling of the composer and his country. Even Milstein plays it in a much more salon way. Here it is raw feeling. The desperate cry in the middle of the scherzo is unique. Those Germans knew something there, after the war. And Schulz, with the most beautiful violin sound, doesn't even have few words on Wikipedia.

Todos los adagios, andantes o largos de las sonatas de Beethoven son preciosos dentro de su melancolía y tristeza. Edouard Herriot, uno de sus biógrafos, se refiere a esas dulces piezas como "La Malinconia" ( La Melancolía). Una de las más bellas es la de la "Hammerklavier sonata. No. 29" Excelente la imagen de los enamorados para esta insuperable música beethoveniana. Gracias 😊

Excellent remastering. I've only recently come to appreciate Rudolf Serkin in his prime (as here). And the great George Szell at the helm. Is this the orchestra Columbia sponsored for Bruno Walter? (Unimaginable any label would do such a thing today.)
@@rickdarby3420 I appreciate that! I partly made this channel to be my own playlist since I found it frustrating to look up other good remasters of old recordings. I'm not very familiar with the history of this recording. From what I can see, Bruno Walter was not involved here.
