This is a dash-cam timelapse of my drive to and from Palomar Observatory. The trip started just below sea level, went through the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, climbed to an elevation of around 5,500 feet, and ended in a National Forest at a working observatory. (There is no audio.)
Riding the Big Surf

I'm in the process of digitizing my great grandfather's home vidoes and in the middle of the most recent 8mm reel, I found this vintage surf movie. My great grandfather lived in Hawaii for a couple of years so I'd guess this was made around 1970 /- a few years.
The Crash of the Hindenberg as recalled by my grandmother

On May 6, 1937, my grandmother was a young girl living near Lakehurst, NJ. In this video she recalls watching the Hindenberg crash. She later told me she had nightmares about the crash for quite some time. Newsreel of the Crash: ruclips.net/video/CgWHbpMVQ1U/видео.html Excellent explainer video on the Hindenberg: ruclips.net/video/VJy17qZmhjE/видео.html
Even though the killings are real, however the 'hunting' part seems to be staged... Apparently both the tigers seemed to be tied down so strongly that none of them were able move their body (except the head).. The 'colonial masters' killed those poor tied down animals, and boosted their ego...
Man they have Destroyed our Precious wild life at will in the Name of Sport...&...for Fun 😰😡 sooo SaaaD inDeeD 💔
This was the good time in India when hunters defended you natives against the men eaters, today’s Indian authorities protect and feed them with your people , but maybe you are not aware of that in front of your laptop in your city….
Guide: we’re gonna hunt some of the most elusive predators on earth. Hunter: cool I think I’ll wear all white outfit
Looks like old Babe Ruth has one heck of a tan in this show.
The Babe Ruth looking fellow was apparently the local Raja. My grandfather, who is still alive and is the young pith helmet wearing kid who makes a few appearances in this video, tells me he was a great guy.
es interesante como ver como los europeos llevaron a la extincion a varias subespecies de tigres, que se jodan
Beautiful to see. Thanks for thinking of the future generations you imbred f*cks. (Not these men but those before them)
Fuck off.
Old days were wonderful hunting in inold days was a game of courage and it was done by Royals
Courage my dick. The idle rich exploiting the native people to chase the terrified animals towards them so they can safely "bag" them. For real courage read jim corbetts books. These cowards arriving in cars for the hunt, hilarious. Happened all over the british empire during the wars ,the rich sent sebastian and peregrine etc to help the war effort thousands of miles away in Africa and india (in reality to save the yellow bastards from fighting)while brave men were getting slaughtered in the trenches. A disgraceful part of history

FAKE, just old stuffed skins. No muscle tone, just dry and stiff, explains why they don't show the animals close up
Maybe telephoto lenses were not that common in those days.
+LJS Thanks for alerting us all that you're another moron who comments without reading the description.
Nice old film reminds me of better times. I've actually witnessed fawns "fawning" over a buck while the mother doe stands by and watches. The two little fawns were bowing to the buck like young dog puppies do to their sire. It was amazing. The buck was motionless like a military general while the fawns preened his neck in honor of his dominance of the woods. The doe cowered from a distance, too, like she knew who the boss was. I'll never forget some of the rare deer behaviors I've been privileged to see. Nice video, David.
Hi David. What is the name of your Grand Father? Are you related to Theodore Richard Flaiz?
+Abishek Deepati Theodore Richard Flaiz was my great grandfather and Theodore Smithwick Flaiz is my grandfather.
David these are amazing!!! I am a native and naturally local history nerd, there is just endless family films like this that are priceless. Love the wakeboard on the right. I volunteer at the hood river museum, have you shared these great films with them? If not please let me know, so many more people than you would think love this as much as us! Gratitude!
Its cool to see real old hunting footage, theres not much of it around on youtube.
I think this is movie shoot,
It absolutely was. When I watched this with my grandfather for the first time about ten years ago, he told me that the local Raja (the larger gentleman who makes several appearances in the film) wanted to make a tiger hunt movie. Apparently, the tiger and leopard in the movie were both just animal skins stuffed with grass and propped up as needed for the movie.
Lovely video. I wish I could see more of this!
I can taste the Kedgeree breakfast. I can smell the Mulligatawny. Pass me the Pith Helmet Wog! Im going out!!
Very Nice video. We wish to more from u.it is great to see all your collection.
