My Redbox job on my last day June 18. Part 1 from Craig to Kremmling, Colorado.
Просмотров 1212 месяца назад
I didn't know it at the time, but this day was my last day working for Redbox. I never put out all the video I took on a drive, but today I will. The total drive is around 8 hours, so this is only part 1. I talk about the climate hoax, and specifically Tony Heller, Chris Martz, Steve Milloy, and Latimer Alder, all influencers on X. I'm also unfiltered, so my language is rough at times. Of cours...

While I spend a small amount of time to reply to the climate hoaxers, this drive is a somewhat harrowing winter drive I made May 6th of this year. (2024). It is reality...no fiction, no predictions, and actually not too much commentary other than noting the really bad winter driving conditions. The most difficult drive I have made in years! Please enjoy my white knuckle drive! I was happy (luck...

Knowing youtube is throttling my channel heavily gives me the freedom to say what I want, so I do. This drive is a first...first time I filmed Meeker to Rifle along the Grand Hogback. Lots of interesting rock formations and colorful clay cliffs, even this early morning video the colors are apparent. A nice Colorado drive with political commentary.

    Boring drive try the drive from Walden to Steamboat springs in fall Rabbit ears pass , Steamboat is a sad sight , what used to be ranches are now golf courses , we spent summers in steamboat as children on cousins ranch every year three month vacation learning and living the ranch life sad to see what it has come to, we avoid Steamboat on our travels..? Yampa is a good stop great people great food..

    • @backroadsofcolorado

      Its true! Steamboat is so fake and made expressly for high end tourists that have different values than the people who used to live there, but were mostly ran out as sboat became a haven for people with too much money. And yes the sboat to Craig is not exciting at all, but I liked the commentary, and the reality of how nasty that drive can become in the winter.. I still like Oak Creek and the hwy 131 corridor, though. While Walden to Rabbit Ears is beautiful, just about every drive in these mountains at the right time in the fall is awesome! I do think that Gore Pass is probably the most impressive I've seen, and I have put out several videos from Wyoming to Montrose showing some really nice fall drives. Timing is everything in the fall!

    I would like to compliment your driving, commentary, and outlook on life. This road seems to be a mystical place. I drove this road on 8/7/24 in a 2012 Honda Civic. Great video and thanks for capturing.

      Thanks. It wasn't a surprise, and the company did make a decent effort in its last few years to diversify, so I got acquainted with different types of retail kiosks...keyme, eco atm, and others besides the redbox accounts. But their devotion to woke hollywood kept them from putting in better but older movies, and advancing technology really ate up their customer base. Glad you liked the first part of this video! @backroadsofcolorado 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks Piddy! Glad to hear from you! I was having some trouble with your name, and it was because of the numbers. And yes, I was also having some trouble characterizing our conservation...so I hope I left it reasonable for you in that video. All is ok here. We got our first rainfall (not snow) last night, and the weather is warming here...but not too humid here. I have lived in humid areas though, so I understand it can be really oppressive. I did post on X concerning this video, and it went from around 60 views to over a hundred in a day, and I also saw un climate change labels on other videos I posted...that weren't there before, so there has been a bit of a shift maybe some from X, maybe some from youtube. However, I am thinking about adding a different channel for political and philosophical subjects where I make the video around one subject...keeping it at around 10 minutes, but taken from the longer videos I typically make for this channel. And have both so people who like the long form videos have content, but people who are less in interested in the drive can get a quick video. I gotta say that this format is a tough one because it it so easy to become just a cranky guy griping! Thanks for being a subscriber, and I like your comments too!

      Yeah, those things you missed in your videos gave me something else to talk about besides politics...so Thanks! And they were pretty funny too! I have missed stuff and had to completely start over with my videos...not so funny..well until I get over being cranky about having to redo them. And you are right not scary! That's typical me, never using the actual proper words. That's awesome you got the Dodge sold so fast! I hope y'all can get that nice old Ford back in business just because its such a nice truck. So, since I have been cut way back on driving, I have been looking at footage I liked but didn't use, so both the snowiest video and the summer rabbit ears video seemed like good posts. I did ramble too long in the snowiest video telling that story, though. And, yes, I should have asked to ride along! AND...posted a video of the steam engine with it's new valves! On Oldtown

      @@backroadsofcolorado Cool, I'll go watch that one next. I just stopped doing much political commentary because I get too pissed off and it makes me feel shitty. I'd sure like to make some $$ off my videos but I think that'll happen about the time Hell freezes over since I'm apparently not that much of a draw. In the meantime, since I'm home all the time now, I've been doing overtime on X making hopefully politically relevant posts, so I'm getting my ideas "out there" but I just can't rant and drive, it jacks my blood pressure and makes me wanna yell and cuss way too much....🤯 We're on the fence with the red Ford, I have it listed for sale but at a crazy price, so maybe I don't really want to sell it too badly, but if somebody wants it enough I guess I'd sell it. We did get a shed to move my eBay biz into, it's been taking over the house and making me nuts. Hopefully it'll be here in the next week or so. Glad to see you kept some awesome old footage, unfortunately I have deleted all my old stuff, I just don't have enough space to store it. 😭

    • @backroadsofcolorado
      @backroadsofcolorado 8 месяцев назад

      Yep I see your point. Politics is a nasty subject presently. Well, maybe Big Red is better being sold, but still a nice truck! And I am glad you have a place for your ebay stuff. It's all fun and games until you blow a belt, then it's sheer survival. Very glad you were not out on some blizzard-slicked highway when that happened, and glad you figured out the cause too! You're not wrong, the world has become a mess and I don't know how it's ever going to get righted. Guess we wait & watch...

    • @backroadsofcolorado
      @backroadsofcolorado 10 месяцев назад

      Interesting that the belt I replaced to begin with had the same damage but I didn't get what was going on...just an old belt I thought...but it was my alternator that is incorrectly sized...it needs to be 1/8" out further...that split the old AND the new belt. There was power steering fluid everywhere in my engine compartment from the belt catching a hose and pulling it off of its connector. Saturday it was snowing so I just opened the hood and sprayed brake cleaner all over the engine compartment to clean that mess up but I will need to unmount the alternator and space it out so it is in line with the belt path. You are right I have been really,, really lucky that my breakdowns happen here in town and not out on the road! I have been watching the 'Lord of the Rings' and that seems to be helpful in understanding this strange time...and the title of this video too! Merry Christmas!
