The project was not needed for flood control. It is needed for kayaks, small boats and canoes to access Bear Creek and transverse into the Bay for the Hammock Bay communities that border it.

You need to restrict beach fishing. They take over and it prevents people from entering the water and it pulls sharks into the area. I saw fishermen pull in two small sharks last Friday evening . Any idiot can put a pole out here and they don’t even watch them. They leave them.

I watched every moment of Walton County Reflections, Episode 19. I was totally absorbed. Refreshing, words and memories rolling out of Donnie's mouth, completely extemporaneous and relaxed and most interesting. ~ Started independently at age 11, with five acres of corn. Made crop. ~ He took a risk and bought first tractor, while a junior in HS. Massey Ferguson. and a two-row planter. ~ Saved money and kept buying land. ~ learned how to make things grow -- bio-technology, several degrees. And he kept growing and learning and performing. I learned some thing I didn't know watching and listening to this fine episode. Donnie is inspired by learning -- learning how to make things better, the things he grows and builds. Donnie uses the number of rows of his planter to measure his success. Grandstanding and visibility means nothing to Donnie. He's interested in one thing: Gitn'er done! Whatever the job. Others talk. Donnie is doing it. And because he is so darned interested in the fine details of his story, good-ole-boy vernacular and jargon dissolve into very articulate (not necessarily refined) speech. What's with that, Donnie? A most informative episode about a very important dynamic of Walton heritage. Thank you, Donnie! I want more. Where is part 2?

be aware that teens on beaches happens in summer too. If you are not aware of that then you are not paying enough attention. Be wary starting Memorial Day weekend. as well, the kids roving through Seagrove were not here alone. They were with their negligent parents who let them loose. And the Texas / Nashville week was almost as bad as Atlanta and they did not learn the excellent lesson given by the Sheriff during the Atlanta / Kentucky / Louisiana week.

I love the idea of walking trails around the property. Which is a whole separate topic. Would they be multi-use or just foot paths? Bridges over wetlands sounds protective but could be problematic since bridge construction and supports inevitably impact the terrain. Is there current access to the property? It would be good if the local public could be involved in the development decisions.

Distressing. Are we thinking of funding it from the south somehow? We already have power in the south, why not just increase generation here instead of transporting it from the north? I obviously have no idea of the issues. But we must be able to do it right.
