The Adventures of J and L
Добавлен 9 июл 2007
This account is shared with myself (the adult who loves good music and the railroad) and my much younger dependent (who loves Minecraft, lifestyle vloggers, anime, and so on). I see everything that goes on here, so be nice. I will address any issues that arise going forward. Enjoy! Posted 07/09/22

If it wasn't for 407 slowing this one down at Sandy Cove, I would have never got this shot. Out from the fog bursts CN 120 on the last leg of its journey to Rockingham Yard in Halifax, NS. 08:08 ADT.

Daily manifest 407 from Dartmouth, NS to Moncton, NB (with a stop in Truro for CBNS pickup) cleared Sandy Cove siding east of here and is now underway to Truro. 406 continues its journey to Gordon Yard in Moncton. Leaving Sussex, it's on the last 40 miles of the Sussex subdivision. It's fun watching the old geep powering up the grade after leaving the 30 mph speed limit of the town of Sussex. 4720 and 2662 and 69 mixed cars (mostly Irving products) carry on their way.

CN 406 has left east Saint John and is enroute to Gordon Yard in west Moncton. 4720 (a rare geep leader) and 2662 lead 69 cars through Nauwigewauk, just west of Hampton in the mid-afternoon.

A windy afternoon tests my cheap tripod as 406 blasts towards Moncton from Saint John after 16:17 ADT. SD75Is 5722 and 5749 do the lugging this time.

The fourth train of our trip home from Old Quebec. In 5 hours, we saw 120, 473, 305, and now (what I think is) local 570 returning to Edmundston, NB yard on the Napadogan sub. May have gone to St. Leonard, Grand Falls, or further, but I have no confirmation of that. Around 19:30ish ADT. Great way to end the day. I'll try to get the 120 video up again another day. Can't get the sound and the vid...

Almost to the QC/NB border when the scanner crackled and this was below me in the woods. Turned around and barely beat it to the crossing on the Pelletier sub (the lights started after I crossed the crossing). This features my first spotting of a 8900-series SD70M-2. This was 30 mins after the 473 spotting earlier in my videos.

Further down on Quebec route 285 east of CN Escourt siding was this surprise waiting to enter the siding a mile or so to the west to wait for 120. X473 is run when needed to take the heat off of 305, both of which stop in Joffre, QC. On Rue de la Fabrique (Pelletier sub mileage 57.84), 473 is moving again with: 2589 (C44-9W) 4141 (GP9RM) 4785 (GP38-2(W)) No car count, as my batteries died befor...

In the early afternoon on Friday 14 May, 2010, I got off autoroute 20 heading east for Quebec City from Montreal. I stopped at this crossing in Saint Eugene, QC (exit 160 to be exact). A few minutes later, CN 782, a Rivieres-des-Plaines to St. Romuald unit tank train blew for the two crossings west of me. 8820 (SD70M-2) and IC 2713 (C44-9W) and three rams of 17 cars each for a total of 51 cars....

That is a Loud Horn
Joel was such a great bandmate. Today, on the date of his celebration of life, if you're all cool with it, I'd like to dedicate this in loving memory of my buddy Joel Scott. Heaven has gained one heck of a bass player.
Gago
Beautiful K3L and classic Canadian National EMD's
Well done, a lot of units on this train. I love the fog!
Speed and action well captured!
Is there still a train here ?
What are the open boxcars for ?
Mavis crossing ?
Is this Mavis Crossing on the Campbelltown road?
Great camera work . Good job .
I love train 🚂
10 years later and the block signals are gone. They were moved a mile up the line west of here to enfield past the post office. What a shame because they are barely viewable from the place there setup now. the railroad sure has changed since 2007-2010.
Nice and smooth
Very nice video!!!
Woah he was moving quick!
How come you stopped making videos there great!
I wouldn't mind the sound..... Haa
Nice arrangement....should be "O Worship the King"....
Cool train!
Good band
76 cars? Really? And only 3 locos? I didn't count them, but anyway... It's nice to see someone from outside Canada watching these vids... To tell you the truth, the railway seems to be dying in Southwest Nova. It's unfortunate, really.
I;m guessing the bulkhead flats with spokes on the sides were at one time BC RAIL.
exBAR
Funny, I've watched this video 4 or 5 times, and this is the first time that I've seen that station sign for Nauwegewauk.
I counted 76 wagons. If that was the UK, the number would be nearer 7. Good news for motorists, bad news for spotters.
im amazed no one has ever tried to BEAT the train in Harvey .. YET.. wonder who will be dumb enough to try it!
i saw a yellow handcar go by and then about 8 more about a minute apart , these were old hand pump type not speeders, right out my window here in Nappydog. are they AMERICANS touring?
going to toronto!!! on the york sub.
going to toronto!!!
this is by my house lol, i live in parker ridge and i hear this shitty train sometimes on a clear night
Great clip.. I missed this excursion. And I have to agree about the horn, this is my fav of all NBSR locos.
im from the harvey Area lol... im wanting to see a train come thru anyone know the times and when?
choo choo !!! :) lol
Does a train that has four engines require four engineers? Enjoy watching the rolling stock pass by... Thanks! RL Atlanta, GA USA
@jamminjoel It'd be nice if they had their regular scheduled time again - ie after CN 305 and before the local and CN 308.
@KRG2645 Yeah, they're hit and miss, aren't they (473s). The consist gave this 473 away, as they're made up of leftover engines.
Y'as des rumeur que se train 473 et 474 vont demenager sur la Mont-Jolie et Newcastle sub. Hatre de voir si ses vrais
Ah OUI! I caught that same train the night before, same power but with less cars
Nice shot. Thanks. 5*
Bravo and thank you for sharing. 5 *
Very nice shot. Cheers. 5*
Thank you for viewing. I've subscribed to you as well. Enjoy.
Very beautiful shots. Thank you. 5*
Nice video. Well worth the trip up! You can hear the hotbox detector at the tail end of the video as well.
Guess that truck driver doesn't know what a fucking railroad crossing is. Anyways, nice video. Lovely horn on that SD unit!
Nice!!!
Sounds awesome guys! Good to see Jamie again. Tim Lewis Moncton, NB
Yeah, I was surprised to see the high centre headlight when it came into view. I wonder if one or two of the chimes weren't working properly.
Great video, Joel. Kind of sounded like a Dash-9 horn when I first heard it.
Awesome railfan video Joel 5 stars!!!
