    I've seen good things from Della as a newer brand. GE, LG, Honeywell, and Midea all are really good units. A lot of the others are mostly rebadged units made by other companies. The saddle units are really great and have a lot less impact due to heat loss around the sides and the case of the unit conducting heat through the window opening. Most of these are all inverter-based units so they have slow start, high efficiency multi-speed compressors, and a lot of them are full heat pumps. The days of having a simple big oil filled dumb compressor and two fans are over. Some people of course see that as a down-side, they are more complex, they are all computer controlled, and you can't just open them up and jury rig something if you needed to. However that complexity brings with it a lot more cooling, consistency, they run waay better at very high and low temperatures, and a lot less power is being wasted (enough to power to essentially pay for the unit).

  • @TheVaga9
    @TheVaga9 Месяц назад

    Just put a drain hose in and run it outside! They pretty much had the disclaimer in the manual. Great video!!

    • @LogicalNiko
      @LogicalNiko Месяц назад

      So pretty much all units have some sort of caveat about high humidity situations as any air conditioner running where the interior space is up to 80% humidity is going to create a lot of condensation (more than the unit can handle). The issue is much worse in the saddle units as they need to pump the water back up and over the saddle to the outside, full size units just drain it into the bottom of the shell and hopefully you followed the instructions of ensuring the unit is tipped to the outside by 1/8-1/4-inch. In most cases if you're in the habit of leaving the unit running you are not going to have problems. But if you frequently open up the shop and flood it with high humidity 90+ degree air it's going to have problems keeping up when first starting (it's pulling many gallons of water from the air). In a shop if you really want to do it right and not worry about it, attach a small line to the drain hose port and drill a drain port to the outside. Any spare 1/2" PVC, vinyl, or even PEX would work fine. Either that or leave the drain plug open and add a potted plant to the shop under the window 😂

    Pellets or wood? Depends on your fuel source. We live on a large acreage property. I get two cords of wood a seasom just cleaning up the dead trees and winter damage. I have a lifetime of fuel. Mostly Oak and Madrona. Maple and Douglas firr. A little western cedar for a sweet aroma, my wife loves that. I sweep twice during a 4+ month season using 2 to 2.5 cords of wood. Stay warm, my friends.

      I would have them give you the Echo loaner to use before buying it. I think after testing both, you will lean toward the Stihl. But if you lean towards the Echo, I am sure it will work great for you. This isn't who is right or wrong, but finding the best product for you.

      @@dowhowerdoesit9426 I wish they did that but they don’t give out loaner equipment. Not to regular consumers anyway. From talking with them they say the Stihl has more power but the Echo shaft is built better than the Stihl. They also said the local guys that run tree trimming services prefer the straight handled Echo due the shaft being more robust. I have an FC91 edger with a 4 mix engine and have not had any problems but I’ve heard quite a bit that the plastic cam/gear wears out on the 4 mix engines and can ruin the engine.

    • @dowhowerdoesit9426
      @dowhowerdoesit9426 Месяц назад

      @rapaent As far as I can tell, the only difference is the 135, which I think is the new replacement for the 131 ( I think) has a square running shaft and not round. The shaft length, cc's and bar length are the same. I would have to guess that it may make it a bit stiffer and harder to break. I like the 131 because it's what I am used to. I do not abuse mine, but definitely run it to the limit, and have never broke one? Just use a dealer that will let you use both loaners before spending the money, and you can't go wrong! P.S. if they know you are buying, they will be much more open to the loaners.

    Just got my H31 and reading the manual. Have you read the manual? It says 12 inch bar I believe. I thought it was a 14 inch bar. And the Stihl pole saws they cost more what is the difference. I should also mention my Stihl dealer lets me do lay away. Now my chain came off on the first run but seems to be okay. I think the chain got a kink in it.

      Awesome, you will love it. My dealer said you can get them with 12 or 14 inch bars, I do have the 14. Remember, there are 2 different chains. You have the stock, and then the yellow marked ones. Yellow is what I run, as they are a bit more aggressive but also more dangerous When the chain is brand new it will stretch a bit, I run it for just a few minutes to warm up and then I retighten.
