There are lots of these guys that think they know the rules and supposedly own the land, they create more problems for everyone and they are endangering the situation. He's obviously in the wring and he probably knows it.

Many years ago, a family friend invited me to go hunting. I don't hunt, but I was curious, so I agreed to go along just see what all the fuss was about. He set us up in a deer stand, but we were watching for javelina (not deer) due to their destruction of local crops, damaging fences, attacks on chicken coops, and attacks on pets in the area. About three hours later these two guys show up on really noisy three wheelers (this was a while back when they were still legally sold in the US). They stopped and looked up. They tell us they have a hunting lease and the owner's permission to hunt here, and we need to leave their deer stand. Well, that's kind of interesting because my dad and his dad built this deer stand about 10 years earlier (I know because I'm the dumb kid who got to climb up and down the tree putting in the supports (I was lighter and nimbler in those days). We informed them of that fact, and they tried to BS us with some story about how they paid for it to be built. My friend informed that 200 yards behind is the property line between his parent's property and his uncle's property and they were full of s**t as neither family would let a bunch of ignorant city boys on their properties to hunt (lease or not). When they started making threats, he pointed out I was an active-duty military sniper and if they wanted to press the whole trespassing issue too far that they could finish it right here and right now. Wow, I didn't realize that those three wheelers could go that fast. I admonished him for trying to start a gunfight by saying I was sniper (I was a military weapons instructor at the time). Trespassing and then trying to palm it off as your leased hunting area is kind of ridiculous (it exists in the state, but not on his family's property as they had some bad experiences with hunter's years before the incident.). We got their descriptions and plate numbers off the three wheelers and reported them to the Sheriff and Game Warden. They were arrested later while trespassing on another farm down the road. I guess they thought having a hunting license gave them the OK to hunt anywhere. PS they lost their three wheelers, rifles, their car, and got a fine on several charges. Pennsylvania can be pretty strict on hunting on private property.

Theyre great for filling out your spread. I mix them in with some avian x mallard decoys and some green wing teal.

Never had this happen hunting but I have had people tell me I couldn't fish around their 'Private Dock'! Even though the lake we lived by was Private and the HOA for living there clearly stated your dock is private but the water isn't. Also said anyone in trouble in the water had the right to access your dock. But there were a couple people who never liked the rules so they gave you crap.

As an angry old man myself, this guy is making us look bad.

Where I live in Texas I hear of situations like this quite often especially if the land owner doesn’t live near the land in question. A person who leased the land for farming or grazing, not hunting, gives someone unauthorized permission to hunt. In most cases the leasee charges for the hunts and pockets the money. This has caused people to lose their lease, have legal recourse taken against them or getting a good ol’ Texas ass whipping.
