Nonono, but in the books, they do have more relationship, actually. The thing is just they couldn’t make an exact same relationship in the films as in the books but, I mean, they really respected, admired and were friends with each other. I mean, they aren’t prolly the closest two people in Middle Earth but they indeed are friends.
