June 19th we attended the True Western Roundup in Durango. A great evening of entertainment with youngsters from far and wide showing their skills. Everything from bucking horses and bulls to a 3 year old riding a sheep, here is one of the competitors in the barrel racing showing here speed.

A little nostalgia with the 9.00am train from Durango to Silverton

Our riding today took us from our base in Durango up Route 550 through Silverton and then onto what is known as the Million Dollar Highway. There are a number potential reasons for the name one of them being the "fact" that the road cost $1,000,000 per mile to construct. Here is some of the ride showing some of the road between Silverton and Ouray

Silverton was a mining town back in the 1870s. Today its home to the highest Harley store.

Riding out of Kayenta, Arizona heading across the border into Utah towards the famous back drop of Monument Valley was amazing, take a little time out and come for the ride - imagine the heat of the desert, red sand and dust, and of course John Wayne and all his cowboy buddies.
