I just moved into my first ever council flat top floor. Guy below (owned flat) smokes pot, coughs and clears his throat nonstop, slams doors and windows and generally crashes around to 2am+!! I can literally hear him and his gf who visits on the weekend laugh, talk and sha* at the top of their lungs! The soundproofing tbf is non existent! I am getting legal advice and getting in touch with the council to demand I be moved or failing that, soundproofing installed as a matter of law! I got my flat looking so good and it is devastating! 😢

Sadly, if this is persistent over several months, or even surpassing a year. The best thing to do is move (if you haven't purchased the property). You can't negotiate nor reason with unintelligent, inconsiderate and disgusting filth that serve 0 purpose to society and are in no way shape or form, great, good or even just decent humans. I had noisy neighbour for nearly four years three times a week smell of drugs coming through my window from his , landlord does nothing , police do nothing , council guy he’s an ex copper he does nothing . I tell him keep bloody noise down and I get final written warning from landlord go figure… it’s caused havoc with my mental health I suffer from sleep apneas and parasomnias was on tv for it and I have PTSD and other disabilities from the army , the stress of it all caused my wife to lose our son and then the wife left and I’m just left with this noisy neighbor 😞
