The game was already underway when my friend Newt and I arrived. An usher was informed that we were Canadians and this was our very first visit to the ballpark. Ignoring ticket stubs he escorted us to seats behind home plate which were folded down and wiped with a cloth. This kind, thoughtful man then gestured with both hands, palms up, to a life-long memory of beautiful Crosley Field. 🇨🇦

Many great memories of the old ballpark. Was 19 when they moved to Riverfront, and, being 19, I was excited to see us finally have a 'major league' ballpark. Now I'm in my 70's and I miss the old place. Parking was the biggest problem at Crosley. Like most neighborhood ballparks built in the early 19th century, they fit the ballpark into the available space, and parking was not much of an issue because people came to the game on trolleys and buses most of the time. We'd park at Union Terminal a couple blocks south of the ballpark.

If there was a ballpark that was ever to be rebuilt, this is This one. It is possible. Atlanta & Texas have built 2 new parks after New Comiskey. & we see the success of a rebuilt / modernized Wrigley field. The White Sox can build a modernized exact replica & be the envy of all MLB. The lease the Sox have at new Comiskey is up in 2029. So why not put the plan in motion to rebuild the Baseball Palace of the World. Build a true ballpark, not a monstrosity of a stadium dressed up with the swag of false character & fake historic value that the rest of MLB has except for Fenway & Wrigley. Build a true intimate ballpark the way it should be.
