I always wonder how many highly-functuonal people get mis-categorized (please forgive me terminology) as being on the "less functional" end of the spectrum. Regarding pros and cons, I always like to say "it's good to strike a balance." I think it applies to almost everything. Anyway, I appreciate hearing your thoughts in this video.
I think your tips are fantastic! Your approach is kind and loving towards someone who would be experiencing a difficult and scary time. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and experiences and for giving a voice to those who might not be able to communicate their feelings or needs.
I loved your first blog! I definitely, for sure, for sure, want to see more! I felt like I was in the kitchen with you. I learned a lot of information about autism, gluten intolerance, cooking, and about you! You also made me laugh a lot! Can we have more blogs that include: cooking, nutrition information and stories? Perhaps also more information on dogs, exercise, and autism? Thank you!
Great job explaining sensory symptoms, Neil! You've come up with some good coping strategies with the sunglasses and earplugs. I hope you have a great school year. Love you! Great-Aunt T! :)
Neil, I loved your video! I really relate to being overwhelmed by sound, and it’s sometimes a struggle to stay calm in overly stimulating situations. Thank you so much for sharing your perspective and insight ❤️❤️❤️
Neil, thank you for this very informative video. I have a lot of sensitivity to light and sound, too. It sounds like you've come up with some great solutions to compensate for these challenges though. Have you ever noticed that Papa covers his face with his hands and rocks when he's overwhelmed sometimes? :) Stimming seems a great way to "release" stress, and you offer a great explanation of that in this video. It is wonderful that you are able to openly share about how you cope with social anxiety, too. Diving in and learning about topics you're interested in and being able to totally immerse yourself in that subject is a wonderful gift! I would love to see you do a video on one of your current topics of deep interest. You are doing a wonderful job communicating with others about life on the Autism Spectrum. I hope to hear much more from you on this topic! I'm so proud of you! <3
Awesome video, Neil! Hey, you're a pretty good shot with that BB Gun. I appreciate that you always take safety very seriously. Great job!! Auntie T! <3
