My husband was working late in an art studio with a young artist meeting another deadline - our from the radio came a chance to win a couple of tickets to see ASWAD in concert (around about 1986/7) anyway, the winner would be first to reach the Capital Radio Station building. Well, having been a short course sprinter in my early teen years @ school - I flew out the door and.battered the hell out of that pavement - DJ later said on air that it was one of the quickest he was, (she said, modestly) very impressed. Concert day arrives & my hub & I were in the audience-all around there were beautiful, blue hazy wavey streams of smoke from the back area of the stalls, it was Absolutely Stoating (to coin my country’s vernacular). Anyone else out there in You Tube Land that was in London @ that time who also recalls those talented musicians? Concerts, Concerts, Concerts & Music Venues Galore thru’ ‘70’s into next 2 decades, so very high standards set and audiences very spoilt - ASWAD definitely did not disappoint.
