Yeah man that’s the issue I have with the big properties. It can be tough to quote them correctly a lot of times. Hard to know how long it’s gonna take.
Thank you for the video 👍😎🇺🇸
Man sometimes we take hits on quotes that will only makes us look in the future for improvement. Great video yall 💪🏼💯💯
Thanks for all the detail you provide. Best of luck!
Awsome guys 🫡💯
Could u pile it up and burn it? Even thoe it's summer i may consider piling it up now and burning it in September- Renting a chipper would be a good option too considering the how flat and dry everything is- Also a 30yd dumpster rental in my area is $450. 12" Chipper about $450 as well. For me my skidsteer the grapple bucket, brush cutter and a 30-40 yard dumpster. What i dont like about a chipper is 1) i gotta go get it 2) it probably cant take all those big trunks. 3) takes labor to run it
Yeah I thought burn but they want to get ready for grass and I was thinking let’s do grass in September you know. And also I could burn but I mean I don’t want to kick the can down the road you know. I’d need a machine to stack and then a machine to burn and keep it pushed up. We took the safest bet and quoted for dumpsters and just get it all gone. There several trees in there. Idk we ain’t herd back either lol so may not have to worry about it.
One thing I would change is them edgers and weed eaters 😂 not hating but I prefer sthil
lol. Come on now. If our dealer sold them we probably would try. I’ve always like redmax and they happen to sell them.
Lol bad day to wear shorts
you know me - i would put my exmark with the tweels in that.. Def come back and do that as a stand alone job-Its never going to be this dry for long- That gets rain on it - gonna grow fast - 5 min from house is GOLD
Yeah we would have I just didn’t want to chance messing up blades with what we had left to cut. We ended up going back and doing it all with the tractor yesterday evening after that little shower we had.
@@Southernlawncare make that money cuz!🤑🤑

Increase your prices by 4% to make up for the credit card fee.
Zelle is free with my bank - people that Zelle me - the money goes straight into one of my bank accounts
Also with venmo and cash app instant deposit cost - but i always use the free option that usually takes a couple days to get paid

That standing water is a issue in this drought we in- All the kritters bugs and all looking for water with the NO rain we been ib
Hey man are you still going to be buying the new Redmax ebz 9000 backpack blower this year
Not right now. If leaf season is real busy for us this year we might. But I don’t want to spend the money to be honest
Thank you for the video guys 👍😎🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
Keep your walk behind, acre properties looking good ,don’t worry about the drought we’ll all get through it. It’s the gamble of the job. You can’t control the weather. Hang in there and thank you for the video 👍😎🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
The only thing that I see that you could possibly need is another landscape trailer for the second truck so you can run Both the trucks mowing grass. That would be a Ballin Pimp move.. Having the ability to run 2 trucks on the mowing and having the dump trailer on the side. You can really do good alot.of work really fast.
Having the dump trailer and additional equipment though might not be the best time, but you can't change that now. So now you got to take on work as you can with dump- But we all know during the mowing season we rarely use dump trailer either. But the dump trailer is a continued very versatile asset that I've had for 15 years. It ain't going nowhere but your money will get better and better. And you will learn different ways to use the dump and learn to make money and or save time The same thing with the walk behind. If you all of a sudden, get more work, you can always put somebody on a mower.. I would not sell my dump trailer without having another 1 to replace it. Great video man
Gotta be smart when your going into business for yourself. I've been in lawncare 37 years and I can tell you that buying that truck was a mistake. I could've bought 3 work trucks for that price. That 10 grand you put down should've bought your work truck and you wouldn't have a payment. All my work trucks are $10,000 or less. That money on the dump trailer would've went towards a trailer big enough to haul all your equipment. Makes no sense to spend that kinda money on a traiker just to sit. All my trailers are 20ft . They'll haul three 60" zero turns or 4 stand ones. You can't make profits when your in debt on all your equipment. That stand on is wasted money also unless your using it on 20 or more yards a week. I got one 36" we use but I use it every day.
Where can I find 3 trucks for 11k a piece that can handle a 20’ trailer with 4 mowers. We looked.
And also handle 14k with the dump trailer loaded down.
@@Southernlawncare my trucks are 3/4 ton gas burners except that gmc 1500. . We do tree work also and I haul big loads on our dump trailers all the time with them. Facebook is full of work trucks.
@@shaneparnell2128 yeah 3/4 gas is more of what I wanted originally. Just didn’t feel comfortable with what we were seeing. I did drive one and found one but it was only a few thousand less. But thanks again for watching.
@@Southernlawncare them gas burners have came a long way with the bigger motors. My work trucks don't have the bigger moters but they still pull good. My 2015 ram with the 6.4 hemi pulls anything I've ever hooked it to pretty good.
Do you guys do any kind of marketing? If you want to grow you have to market and spend a little money. Facebook/Google has been my best. Signs around town and door hangers have helped some too.
Thank you for the content brother 👍 My first two years I did not see much profit. I know I did not have as many yards but my pricing was horrible and honestly I was debating to quit for a second. I am still trying to justify my equipment but trying hard not to make a crazy decision lol. I almost pulled the trigger on a F350 but I second thought myself My Ram has life on her left. Yall be safe 🫡
Good stuff. Thanks for watching.
I retired from a company after 44 years at the age of 62. Lawn care was something I always wanted to do but never took the chance. I didn’t want to live with no regrets. A motivating reason to make money besides my pension and social security is to offset the high price of healthcare insurance under the age of 65. Been doing this over one year and loving it. I always loved to mow lawns since I walked the streets at 10 years old looking for mowing work. I played golf for about 10 years so I love a manicure lawn. My business model is to provide affordable quality lawn care. My prices are not so cheap to be considered a volunteer instead of a business but I don’t price out seniors or single parent individuals. If I was younger and ran it full time this would be my approach. I would operate as a solo operator knowing if I am sick or equipment is damaged or stolen then I am out of work for a time. I would take a portion of profits to invest. Investing your money makes money while you are sleeping. This is the long term plan to work less in lawn care. Working for someone else will always limit you. Lawn care in my area is year around because of winter rye grass and leaf clean up. Running full time would also mean to move up your pricing to new clients then slowing let go the undesirable yards and lower prices. So in time you can search for clientele that have no problem paying well for your area of expertise. Taking in more revenue with less clients. Lawn care is unique in that it is a repeatable business with the same clients that you choose. Know the difference between a plan and a purpose. A plan is a specific route to a destination. When obstacles appear then the plan may go off course and never be completed to the destination. A purpose does not have a specific route. It is driven and focused on the destination itself. You will adjust to whatever is needed to get there. Figure out your purpose in your business. What is your area of expertise do you bring to the market? Develop the education and skills that will forward your purpose. Take care from San Antonio, Texas.
Thank you for the video 👍😎🇺🇸
Keep doing it. It’s the best keep secret. This line of work you can survive comfortably and more. I’ve been doing this for 29 years. Solo operator. Thank you for the video 👍😎🇺🇸
Man them older walk behinds are sure Heavy lol I know my GS36 is 😅
Man u guys hitting great numbers
goodness so 24 yards that cool
Great content guys. I am a partimer for 4 years now. I have always liked mowing since I was a kid. Worked for a Landscape company for 2 years after high school. Season was rough so had to get me a year round job. Nothing wrong with a Job or working 9-5 but started to think about my family and kids future. I started side hustle on small engine repairs back in 2019 and from there just kept thinking about my kids future when they grow older and teaching my son work values and hopefully one day he can run with me. I will say part time has helped me financially. Getting stuff paid off and hopefully pay my home sooner than later. I have upgraded since I started but long term man just want to be able to have that freedom of time with family and can hire a couple people to run the business. I will have time to manage quotes and look to grow my business. Sorry was a long comment but man yall keep yalls head high and keep grindin. Hard work pays off 💯😎
Either hire someone to work during the week or one of you will have to quit full time job.
Thank you for the video 👍😎🇺🇸
I was crying laughing. Too funny. Take care from San Antonio, Texas.
Man them mowers are a beast. I like that Scag man 💪 I love my exmark tho. Great video yall 🫡
Im with u man - if everyone on that route is once a week then cool-if not then it kinda knocks our flow
Dude i would swear you guys are me by the way you guys are thinking-the thought process- no parking - cars in driveway-dog do do in the yard. Sometimes i would lower price a little to get them to go to weekly. Say we doing it for $140 Bi-weekly- I may go down to 125 to get them to weekly if it makes sense route wise. I normally will make up the 30 dollar difference in time efficiently by the ability to do the property quicker weekly than biweekly and can add another property to that route. Great stuff Guys!!
Yeah man I get frustraded with some of these people. We try hard to be as efficient as possible but sometimes people make it hard. And I’m sure it’s not intentional you know they just don’t think about it.
We fixin to go to the Waffle house🤣🤣
Thank you for the video guys 👍😎🇺🇸
I never thought about breaking the route up to walk behind routes and z turn routes. that might work out pretty good
yOU guys are killin it
Your thinking is on Point my guy! All these strategic moves and thinking is awesome
Thank you.
Thanks for watching. A lot goes into it you know lol
