Looking for Ukrainian 🇺🇦 Mosaics in Brazil 🇧🇷 Bald and Bankrupt style
I went to Prudentópolis the Ukrainian 🇺🇦 capital of Brazil 🇧🇷 and I went to the Ukrainian Memorial in Curitiba.
I went looking to find people that still speak some Ukrainian, mosaics like Bald and Bankrupt and for other things that show the Ukrainian heritage of these places.

    Heyy! Glad I discovered your video! I’m from Philippines, but I have been to Brazil once and to Japan many times, and also have dated a Brazilian Japanese person before! I know more Japanese than Portuguese because I studied it longer, but I can more or less understand the discussions you have on this video! If you ever go to Japan, there is a big Brazilian community in Gunma which is two hours away from Tokyo! Lots of signs are in Portuguese there, and there is a big supermarket there that offers many Brazilian food products as well as Brazilian dishes like Churrasco and Feijoada! This makes me miss all the delicious food and amazing people, music and culture! Would love to visit Amsterdam in the future, too!

    Also it's incorrect to call them Italians. They were rightfully Venetian-speaking populations (Istro-Venetians and Dalmatians) that belonged for almost 700 years to the Venetian Republic. Schiavoni were arguably the best fighters of the Republic, also known for their deep loyalty to their Venetian flag.

  • @mercurio-jx2wc
    @mercurio-jx2wc Месяц назад

    Beware folks that Istriots and Dalmatians were largely ethnically replaced by Austro-Hungarians because they were never going to easily blend with the other Slavic territories of Austria-Hungary, like Austrians wanted. They were very loyal to their Venetian Republic and very combative. Schiavoni were arguably the best fighters of the entire Republic and that was an issue after the fall of their State, for Austrians. Needless to say that Tito completed that job and wiped them out of their lands. Centuries and centuries of Venetian-speaking and culturally-centered people completely destroyed.

    “Under Augustus the whole of Istria was annexed to the tenth region of Italy; the south-eastern limits being the Flumen Arsae, the modern Arsa, that great gash in the Eastern flank beyond which began Liburnia. ... Ethnologically, again, Istria declares herself Italian, not Austrian. Her 290,000 souls (round number) consist of 166,000 Latins to 109,000 Slavs, the latter a mongrel breed that emigrated between A.D. 800 and 1657; and a small residue of foreigners, especially Austro-German officials. The Italians are, it is true, confined to the inner towns and to the cities of the seaboard; still, these scattered centres cannot forget that to their noble blood Istria has owed all her civilization, all her progress, and all her glories in arts and arms. Lastly, 'sentiment,' as a factor of unknown power in the great sum of what constitutes 'politics,' is undervalued only by the ignorant vulgus. The Istrians are more Italian than the Italians.” -Lady Isabel Burton, The Life of Captain Sir Richard F. Burton, 1883
