Imo if this was his finale song he would have won. I watched this entire season with my mom and tbh loved every performance but wasn't thrilled with his finale song "Stay".

He brought emotion and tried to connect with the lyrics and meaning of the song but something just wasn't quite right. This song and or perhaps arrangement of the song was possibly too big for his voice.

I revisited this after Adam Lambert's performance at Kennedy Center. It's not a contest and both are good. Jeffrey's voice goes straight to my heart...such a wonderful singer and gift to the world!
