I usually stitch it twice, once without elastic then the second pass with elastic and that usually keeps it nice and secure. Is there any specific seam line that keeps coming undone for you? I can advise better if so 🥰

Yes, around 3%-5% smaller than the actual measurements so it’s nice and snug

Depending on the size that you use, you may need less. Swimwear should use elastic for extra support to ensure the pattern maintains its shape- bust, straps etc

It would need a big alteration to do so! The built in gusset works for the shorts but for leggings we’d need to separate it so it doesn’t bunch up by the thighs!

Doing a zigzag topstitch on the elastic on only the lining side ensures the fabric wont roll and still maintains that seamless look on the exterior! this is great for any seamless looking finish that isn't reversible

Hello! Yes, two straight stitches on either end on the seam allowance. I've seen it done with one zig zag too right down the centre but I prefer two. Elastic is done with a serger or a zigzag stitch- not a straight stitch! Hope that helps!

No worries- we all started somewhere! Let's see if I can help. For the elastic, you want to put the elastic on the wrong side of the fabric on the seam allowance itself, so when you turn it right sides out, the elastic stays on the seam allowance. Here's a video I previously did with a little more info regarding the elastic that I hope helps : ruclips.net/video/xaE0PKC-z9w/видео.html As for slippery fabric, I recommend doing a couple of hand stitches especially where there will be bulk or if you are trying to match seam lines (like on the side seams) to baste it together and keep it where it should be when stitching. And invest in some clips, they're way easier than sewing needles. If you have extra scrap fabric, I recommend doing a test before attempting on your final piece so you can get the "feel" of the fabric with your machine. As with everything, the more stitching you do the better you'll get at it! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with if you're unclear!
