Abstract Watercolour | We leave in order to return better
Travel is more than just reaching a destination; it’s a journey of self-discovery and shared exploration with loved ones. It’s about stepping out of familiar surroundings, embracing the unknown, and awakening the senses to new experiences. Whether it’s the excitement of uncovering surprises or the quiet reflection that follows, travel teaches us to live mindfully, cherish life’s details, and ultimately rediscover the value of home.

As the new year begins, I’m letting go of long-term plans and choosing to focus on the present - embracing each moment, each spark of inspiration, as it comes. Collage & Watercolour | Finding Light in Life’s Fragments

A reflection on finding light amidst life’s fragments. From the vibrant pōhutukawa blossoms to the quiet whispers of inspiration, it’s about navigating through grief, embracing imperfection, and discovering joy in the process of creation. A reminder to cherish the journey, let go of the need for perfection, and allow the moment to shape the meaning of our days. Timestamps: 00:00 A Scarlet Welco...
Abstract Watercolour | A journey through art, healing, and growth in my late 30s
Просмотров 11 тыс.Месяц назад
Art emerges in the quiet moments-the bloom of flowers on a walk, the playful shapes of fruits and vegetables, the raw light of an unfiltered photo. Recently, I’ve embraced simplicity, letting go of polished perfection to focus on creating freely. Through collages and watercolors, I explore the vibrant connections between life’s ordinary details and my own reflections. In 2024, this journey feel...

Watercolour Sketch | Spend time at home on a day off
Просмотров 5478 месяцев назад
How would you spend your time on a day off? As Auckland's temperature gradually drops and workload decreases, I find myself staying in more often. With the kids at school, there's more time for me to take control. After tidying up the house 🧺🧹, I would return to my little desk and let my brush dance on the watercolour paper. The colours make me feel warm inside. Artlist Music: bit.ly/slowcollag...
Abstract Watercolour | Finding peace in petals | Intuitive watercolour painting process
Просмотров 8118 месяцев назад
Amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there's something truly special about losing myself in the soothing rhythm of my favorite tunes while watching the enchanting dance of colours on my watercolour paper. Each stroke, though clumsy at times, leaves behind a genuine mark, reminding me why I'm so drawn to this medium. Slowing down the frantic pace of life allows me to inch closer to the...

Been looking for youtubers who paint abstract and do cinematic and cozy videos. Finally found you!❤
Lovely😊
Just beautiful !
I love this SO much! Thank you for the video!
I love this gentle intentioned 'in the moment' practice. Thank you for sharing your thoughts as they resonate wholly with mine. I'd love to know about that music too. Until next time. Can you mention the name of that black marker you used? Is it some kind of grease pen? Thank you.😊
Thank you so much for your kind words! I've added the music details in the description 😊The black pencil I used in the video is a aquarelle pencil from Faber-Castell.
I loved watching you do this painting. Yes, very relaxing but I also enjoyed the music so much, and was looking to see if you posted what it was. I hope you will make a note of that for me. Happy painting.❤
I was looking forward to this but would have enjoyed either watching what you were doing with no dialogue or listening to you quietly do a talk over but found it too distracting trying to read all of the text and missed the painting.. sorry about that, I guess it suits many people but I didn't find it relaxing...happy 2025. Not sure if you were in NZ or Sydney..if I had long lists of everything I should be doing, places I should be going, people I should be seeing I would find that very exhausting..I'm looking for slow and relaxing... :)
Thank you for sharing your feedback - I really appreciate it. I understand that everyone has their own preferences, and while I respect that, I prefer to stay true to my way of creating. At the moment, I feel most comfortable with subtitles rather than talkovers, as English is my second language. I’m based in NZ, and the slower pace of life here often inspires my work. Wishing you a relaxing and happy 2025, and thank you again for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts! 😊
@@slow_collage I wouldn't mind living the slow life or any life in NZ!! You can never please everyone no matter what you do or don't do. But I just make the comment that when I have to read subtitles I don't get a chance to see what the artist is actually doing... Happy creating..you have a lovely kitchen/lounge area there you know how to make things look pretty.
Ii is not recommended to keep paint brushes in the water. It ruins them.
You’re absolutely right! I try to rinse them as soon as I’m done and dry them properly to keep them in good condition. Thanks for the reminder!
Tellement joli ! Merci ⚘️ beaucoup de mettre de la beauté dans ce monde ! ❤
C’est un grand plaisir de pouvoir partager un peu de beauté avec vous, merci pour votre soutien🤎
Lovely serene work. I noticed the book on New Zealand in colour, which made me check your info further…hi there from Patea in South Taranaki!
Very enjoyable video, as I’m Sleepless in Cincinnati at 4am. 😔 thank you for sharing your plans & hopes for the year. And your abstract is lovely and interesting.
I really enjoyed this video and I feel inspired to take out my watercolours 😊
Beautiful and exactly what I needed to take a break from my busy work day- thank you for this retreat ❤😊
Aww thank you! So glad it gave you a moment of calm 😚
Love your abstract art, it’s gorgeous! ❤
The "doer" is dying in many of us- we realize there is more to our lives than being strangled by the outside world's rules. Five years ago, I decided that my life is going to be about "being" not "doing" and like you said, checking off to-dos on a list. I have never been able to follow rules or "the crowd" so it wasn't a hard transition for me- and I have never looked back. Welcome to this most wonderful state of being! 🤗
What a beautiful perspective to share! - Thank you 🤎I'm inspired by your journey and grateful to be walking on this path to a more mindful and fulfilling way of life.
Beautiful. Your videos are calming and peaceful.
I very much enjoyed watching you create. Thank you for the inspiration 😊Happy 2025
Nice.
Love your work - beautiful !
Just discovered your videos. Beautiful, inspiring, beautiful music & not too long. No talking but inspiring words across the screen. ❤
Beautiful 😊
Loving your work
what an amazing talent 👏
I find my breath slowing, being in the now, this moment. I even slow down the video so I can enjoy the peace for a longer time. Thank you so much.
So beautiful, a meditation, on life and on art. Thank you so much
Hello what kind of a block paper do you use ?
Hello, I used Fabriano Artistico Watercolour Enhanced 300gsm Hot Press in this video :)
@ thanx for your reply
I just came across your channel…I love it when things go off the traditional path…so refreshing! I have subscribed 😊.
Thank you so much for your kind words and subscribing, It means a lot to hear that you appreciate the non-traditional approach - it's where the fun and creativity really come alive :)
Beautiful and relaxing, and inspiring me to pull out my paints. Is it a watercolour pencil you used?
Thank you! It's graphite aquarelle pencil :)
Just beautiful!! I love your work!
I have never seen a watercolor picture done like that. It was very nice~
I enjoyed the creativity angle as it was so unique, but something I could try. I think you should treat yourself to a new pair of scissors though! You’ll enjoy it even more. Cutterbees are a go to for crafters for fussy cutting. I thought after you placed the cut out shapes on the base paper you were going to add more pencil. I guess that’s another option. I’d love to see it framed.
Thank you for your recommendation and tips, I'll definitely look into the Cutterbees ☺
Beautiful.
I really appreciate your process and result.
What a lovely reminder to be in the process rather than the product. Thank you!
Beautiful work. I hope you are sharing your work with others. Outstanding..
Lovely journey. 🌸
Thank you so much for the kind feedback - I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! If the font feels a bit small, turning on CC/captions can help with larger, clearer text. I’ll also try to adjust the font size in future videos while keeping the aesthetics I love. Your support means so much to me, and I truly appreciate it ❤ Happy holidays!
Great video, but tiny distracting little print! Would it be possible to make it bigger?
Thank you! Turning on captions (CC) can help make the text larger and clearer. I’ll also work on adjusting the font size in future videos.
Lovely idea and beautiful work, but here in the UK it would take less than a minute on a beach for the collage pieces to be confetti - or papier-mâché !
Thank you for the kind words! I can imagine the UK weather might make it a bit of a challenge. I usually work in my car when it’s windy or damp-it's like a little mobile studio by the beach. Keeps the paper safe and the inspiration flowing :)
I would love to see this beautiful work from a better camera angle.
I’ll make sure to show more of the process from different angles in my next video, thanks for your suggestion!
"you do you": this is not a criticism. my life is already disjointed enough: I would never have cut up your finished piece had it been mine. ;-) really enjoyed watching this first post I've seen of your works: relaxing & beautiful. I sub'd & look forward to more. Thanks & happy holidays!
Thank you so much for the kind words and for subscribing! I totally understand - cutting up finished pieces isn’t for everyone. For me, it’s about finding new possibilities in the fragments. I’m glad you enjoyed the process, and I can’t wait to share more. Happy holidays to you, too ❤
GORGEOUS ❤
Ausgebrannt, gezweifelt - aufgetankt, tief berührt und innerlich befriedet. Danke für die Seelenbilder
Thank you so much for your heartfelt words! It means the world to know the video/works resonated with you on such a deep level. Wishing you continued peace and inspiration 💛
I’m grateful that you feel connected to the message behind it. Wishing you all the best on your own journey!
Such a beautiful video! I was disappointed when it ended. LOL! Thank you for sharing.
Wow i have never watched someone paint a masterpiece and then cut out the pieces. I have to say it was hard to see that but being an artist means you can't be afraid to take risks. Beautiful video. I'm not an artist. But I'd like to be. I'm too afraid to make mistakes.
Thank you so much, that means a lot! Taking risks can be scary, but that's just where the magic happens. I believe everyone can be an artist. Just start small, play around, enjoy the process :) There is no right or wrong, I promise!
There are no mistakes in art, only learning experiences and adventure. Please start to make shapes on a paper. Have fun and see where it goes.
I too opted to watch the beautiful scenery and had to skip the words that were probably beautiful too because my old eyes couldn't read the print.
Aww thank you! I’ve added subtitles/CC to the video now, so hopefully, it’s easier to read :)
Beautiful art, beautiful video - thank you for sharing
I love this slow pace - thoughtful, present, meditative - like watching the sun rise, or a rose bloom. At least, my heart beat slower while watching the process. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful, raw and authentic work and your inner dialogues. Keep sharing!
