The White Whale - 3 Days on the Crinoline to Mt Tamboritha Circuit
5 months ago, we came out to attempt this circuit and found ourselves underprepared when a storm rolled in. Now we're back to reattempt our own 'White Whale'.

One Up EDC V2 Chain Breaker Tutorial
Просмотров 6 тыс.3 года назад
A quick tutorial on how to use the One Up Tools EDC V2 chain breaker. Much improved from the original tool! I stuggled to find much info on how to use this so thought I'dupload a quick tutorial in case others were in the same boat.
Epic effort! Love all the sounds captured
Thanks Josh! When you're up there it just feels like a lot of crunching through sticks and leaves 😂
Sadly this chain breaker works far better than my dedicated park tool one.
@@thebdceigal yikes!
The lizard, birdie, and gorgeous sunrise footage was a lovely surprise, thankyou
0:07 yo this video has Bee-roll?!
And now put the chain back together with the tool. Can't figure out how to loosen up the joint once the pin is in again.
This is slick! How are you liking singlespeed mtn biking?
So far so good! I live in a fairly steep area so have found my rides aren't as long on the SS just because the climbing is so tough, but after a few weeks I've already noticed a huge difference in my climbing ability- part strength, part technique I'm sure!
👍nice ride got the 2.0 big al in a large im 185cm 6ft 1"🤔what size did you get and how tall are you🤔
Thanks! Im also 185 cm but went for an XL. I have a fairly long torso and i wanted something with a bit longer reach than my other bike. I did put a 40mm stem on it though so that it wasnt way too long. Im fairly sure the standard build comes with a 50mm.
Got a name for her yet? She looks great!
Always had a rule that names had to start with the first initial of the brand or model. For this one, I've gone with 'Ruby'
Thank you for this, I was wondering how I would ever get the leverage needed.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this video, it took some fiddling the first time I tried to use the tool.
Thanks! Just got mine, they really should include a proper manual. Even pulling out the multitool and putting it back isn't that obvious. I'm still unsure about a couple of things: - Weirdly shape multitool bit (tip is a tiny flathead, the rest may be the "EDC Top cap tool"). - Flower-shaped rubber washer attached to the package. - "Spare Rotor Bolt": probably the screw that holds the chain tool? - Valve core tool, I wonder if one of the spoke keys also works as a valve core tool.
So glad it was helpful! I just went out to the shed to take a look and see if i could find the pieces you were talking about. Ill list what i found here. -The weird tool is indeed a flathead screwdriver and the top cap tool. It is also used in conjunction with the largest hex tool to break quick links (but it's really tricky and honestly, who needs to break quicklinks out on the trail??) -The flower shaped rubber bit baffled me. I think it might be used for installation in the headtube. Mine is still sitting in the packaging along with the other odds and ends ised for headtube installation. -Original packaging that mine came in says 'spare chain ring bolt'. This is the star head bolt that you loosen to use the chain breaker. -The valve core tool is adjacent to the 3 spoke wrenches which are machined into the chain breaker tool. Hope that helps!
@@tothehillsmtb5615 Thanks for your time! For the "spare" bolts advertised on the package, I guess they just look at whatever similar bolt they can find on a bike and call it "spare xxx".
Hey dude, nice and helpful video. Could you upload a little review? because I am interested in the tool and the pump
Sorry for the late reply. Im not sure im set up to do a full video review but there are a number of reviews out there on RUclips. The pump and tool have been fantstic. I've been fortunate to hardly need them but having them with me every ride is confidence inspiring. I have noticed an intermittent problem where the pump doesnt always seem to work straight away and can take 10 or so pumps before it starts to work. Unsure what this problem is and ive taken it apart as much as i dare and cant see the issue. I might have messed up the valve perhaps by putting on the cap and then trying to push the pump in and seal it- its likely my fault and not a manufacturer issue. Id happily recommend the pump and tool. I think its a better option than storing it in the bike, but thats just my opinion.
Very helpful video. Didn't think about twisting the chaintool 90°. Thanks man for this piece of advice
Im glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot for this video. Is the V2 chain breaker compatible with 12 speed chains? Hard to find the info on One Up website. They only mention the V1 to be compatible with 10/11s
@zapotek12 yep the chain in the video is a 12 speed. I've seen the V1 tool used to break a 12 speed chain too.
Great vid. Needs more jokes tho
