Dear Huw,so impressed was I by the Reine Mab clip that I sent it to one of my oldest friends, a certain M. Le docteur “White” in Paris. Apparently you may have consulted him? If, by any chance, he has examined your vocal cords with a camera I hope it went well. I was his guinea pig on the day that the rep came to demonstrate the equipment. Much stoicism was involved but silent tears definitely flowed down my face! Again, Huw, I wish you all the best. AG P.S. the doctor concerned is also a great admirer of your talent.

Bravo Huw! You are probably one of the most complete artists I’ve come across in many a long year. Voice quality and technique are both absolutely first rate and combined with your musicality and seemingly intuitive skills as an actor make you a force be reckoned with. Sorry that I didn’t make it to Aix for Pelleas. Just seen an interview where you talked about Onegin as a potential dream rôle. I came to it way too early (25) and found myself spending more time in costume changes than attempting to make music! I wish you well in all your future endeavors. With my greatest respect. Major stuff and real 1930s glamour. Even tho it's done tongue-in-cheek, I'm truly reminded of the body language (and eyebrows!) of the early Bing Crosby - watch his Temptation from 1933. Besides I just gotta say that your mother's Laudamus te with Gardiner is one of my favourite vocal recordings ever, esp the amazing way she matches the oboe. Unbelievable. I have many of your parents' recordings and cherish them all and hope soon to have some of yours too. Congrats for the fine work.

Great old school liquid legato with true pitches with true overtones (many singers 'mark' pitches today) and excellent French. Thank you!

Seem to have seen your reply before. Is it just a “mark” response? Explain to us, we poor mortals, not only your understanding of the term but the generally accepted one.

@@alexandregarden6260 If i had cared about generally accepted terms I'd be a happier person. If you can hear when ppl often mark the pitch today and don't sing in the middle of the note, too bad for you. Most people can't tell the difference. I can point to expamples but from experience, it's useless. If you listen to many singers of the golden age the difference is immediately discernible. There the pitch is pure and it relates to the surrounding instruments. Today many singers sing to pass an orchestra and relative pitch is just non existant. At times you honestly can't tell which notes they are singing. But nevermind there's no point.

ES DE UN IMPACTO SU VOZ, SU CANTO SU PRESENCIA MUSICAL.... Y SU COLOTARURA ES ALUCINANTE. QUE PERSONALIDAD. LA MEJOR VERSIÓN DEL ARIA JAMÁS ESCUCHADA. BRAVO.

Your father, David Rendall was singing Lenski at Santa Fe Opera when I was a "wee bairn" apprentice and he inspired my lyric singing. You have a great career ahead of you...I just watched your performance of the Brahms EIN DEUTSCHES REQUIEM at the DNO and listened to some of your singing here on RUclips! Thanks for posting!

Superbe artiste.

BTW thank you so much for posting some or your father's legacy online - incidentally I posted his Von der Jugend a few years ago from the most perfect DLVDE (with Lorraine Hunt and Edo de Waart). I also cherish his work for the ENO and on many Chandos CDs. If you want the complete Mahler performance and you don't have it - let me know. I also absolutely adore your mother's work - especially her Isolier and Mozart C minor Mass. My very best to them both.

A vastly underrated singer. His Ferrando in Così was perfect. Here he sings the original, uncut version of Fuor del mar with all the fioritura, the version that the great Domingo and Pavarotti did not even dare to attempt. Thank you Mr Rendall for your artistry, and for your services to Mozart.
