Просмотров 2,2 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I go over how to remove your intake manifold to do either a carbon cleaning, injector replacement or an oil filter housing replacement. It’s a pretty simple job that would only take an hour or so but to do any other other things it will add more time. While I was in there with the intake removed I also replaced the fuel pressure sensor on the rail along with a rs4 145 bar fprv sin...

What mag are you running?
How you close the hood?
so with this catback track editoon. does it still come with atleast 1 catalic converter or we have to buy both a downpipe and the catalic ?
Outstanding video. Thank you for the time you gave and information you shared. I'm hoping you can help me. I have a 2007 Toyota Matrix, as I understand is the same as a Corolla, I paid a mechanic to change the clutch and flywheel. I lack time and tools to get the job done myself. From the day I picked up my car I have had an ongoing issue that I never had prior to the clutch and FW replacement. You maybe able to shed light on what might be the problem. When driving, regardless of speed or gear I am in, if I go over irregular road surface, e.g. train tracks, the RMP will drop out completely for an instant and then resume. This doesn't happen all the time though, Now the problem has gone from RPM dropping out and resuming correct RPM to stalling the car. When the car stalls it will start right up again and then drive no problem until the next time it happens, which could be at any moment or go for days without a problem. In trouble shooting this I have replaced the spark plugs, new fuel pump assembly, mass air flow sensor and cleaned the intake system. All work done by mechanic (different mechanic who changed out the clutch and FW) hoping that this will fix the problem. He also checked any fuse issues, loose wire harness, ground terminals, and love tapped almost the entire top surface of the engine to see if there's a loose connection somewhere. No luck. When the clutch and FW were replaced, is there a chance that a cable has been stretched or plug that isn't connecting properly in a less obvious place other than the top side of the engine be the cause of this worsening intermittent problem? Any suggestions/advise is welcome. Many thanks, Steve.
Loved watching this!
Do the original caliper bolts work with the 18z or did u have to order new bolts ?
Great Video, Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for showing work already done!! Helpful! Genius!
Hows the pedal feel?
15” spacer!😂😂😂 that’s a big spacer
I know Erik’s car when I see it haha
This is not helpful
Does engine light turn on?
Bud, I'm pretty sure your brake line needs to run on the outside of the shock, not between the shock and the inner wing :)
i tried it and snapped one of the bolts to the turbo so not really sure if i’m up for it again but maybe i will
Where do I get a fender exit lol
A like just for the intro song!
Also need wheels with 30mm off set
Not all wheels are the same. Depends if they’re high disc or low disc. I’ve had wheels fit that we’re 40ish offset with no spacers. Ram multiples 17x8 +35 wheels and had no issues
Whats the mounting hole distance space on these calipers?
they are plug and play on current golf mk 5 6 7 steel knuckles no adapters needed. just the correct screws and (sleeves for the screws) because the holes of the calipers are lil bit bigger.
You can leave the rubber hose as it is. It will bend enough for you to get the follower out.
My stock downpipe literally won't come off the 4 studs from the turbo I've been at it for a day now and leaving filing down the stud to last resort. Any suggestions??
Gotta break off the studs and replace them
thumbs up for safety 1st!
Makes a huge power difference
Yessir! Very good increase as wel as keeping those iat’s down in summer!
Please send links to all the parts that you’ve put on your sonata N-Line
Hey do i need the 330mm pads or 350mm pads?
You’ll need 330mm pads for the 17z’s!
why?
3” as opposed to 2.5 or 2.75 the old intake was and less time the air has to travel into the turbo.
This is nice, don’t be surprised if u start suffering heat soak still nice custom job
Regardless of how the intakes are for these cars, there will still be some sort of heat soak. The car has a bigger intercooler so that helps with heatsoak abunch. Would also like to add, old intake ent over where the turbo sits, so theoretically this new intake won’t get as much “heat soak” as the old intake setup is getting. I do appreciate it though sir
@@theshopspace it hasn’t affected iat at all?
@@SladeWilsonOG haven’t really checked it but probably not as much as a difference as the old intake style, a bugger intercooaler than I have now would solve a ton of the “heat soaking” issues I would run into but this setup is good for stock turbo. BIg turbo will need a different setup.
@@theshopspace get a cheapo IR laser gun from an auto shop, really useful to start marking out different temps during startup/operating temp cycles, my Kincrome one helped me identify a huge gap from factory in my heat shielding adding a good 10+ degrees to the inside of the air intake tubing. Also look up tutorials on cleaning the K&N filter as that one looks old as, all you need is water and filter wax, will keep your car from hydrolocking in the wet!
I had these on my MK6 R but they just ain’t no good so brought the AP racing one’s slightly smaller but literally slightly smaller but dam massive difference between the both specially wen running over 500 hp
Vendeme tu kit de frenado del r para un gti mk6 oye pasame tu vin number para comprar un bomper y pedirlo en la volkswagen
Did you torque the turbo-downpipe nuts when putting the downpipe on or just use a regular wrench?
Just used wrench sir
Great video A1
Thank you sir !
Collaboration?
We need to get into the studio together, might be able to do a car review on a big turbo speed 3 this weekend if you’d be down for that!

What is that Intake? Link?
I just got my ARM downpipe in the mail. Noticed you’re in wisconsin. Let’s meet up and put this thing in!
Yessir! I’m based in Milwaukee, if you’d like to dm me, my ig is @r20gavin !
Thank you brother, good video
Friend, which car model is the one that has those rotors, is it the ml350 version and year, thanks, or will you have the part number of the disc, very good video, thanks
It didn't throw a check engine light and would you recommend a j spacer to get rid of it if it ante got a tune
Yes I’d recommend a o2 spacer/defouler but it’s not always guaranteed that the cel will be gone
Any issues with the route you ran the brake lines, I ordered from your link, and did a test mock fit. Appears these lines are much shorter in length and won’t route using the oem retaining clips
Sorry for the late reply! But no issues with the way I routed the lines so far. I think approximately I have 10k miles on the brake setup so far? No binding or anything like that!
I believe the lines he used are b7 rs4 brake lines which are 6inches shorter than the mk4 r32 lines that’s suppose to be used. Both have the same fittings on each end. I’m also putting together a bbk but the rs4 ss lines are half the cost of mk4 r32 lines so the sacrifice would be shorter lines
The bad thing about sport hatches is the trunk is open in the interior. Compared to sedans the sound is isolated on a sealed trunk. On my Lexus I could not drive the sedan w the access backseat door open, the drone is horrible, but closed is contained and bearable. I wonder if you have tried sound deadening material to keep the exhaust noise down.
what do you mean its a good thing abt them IMO Its halfway stripped love it
@@skaterboi8922 drone... In a sedan the trunk/back seats wall holds a lot of that resonance. On a hatch is one full open cabin/chamber. The noise can be resolved, it just takes more work. I have a hatch myself, I like them very much.
if you have a mk7 all you need to do is swap knuckles
Yup
Nice video. So, the ML350 Rotors still works without the safety screw? any warning on that?
Correct! Majority of German cars is it because they obviously use lug bolts and it’s to help keep the rotor in place when you put the lugs on. No other use for it than that!
@@theshopspace nice information, I was trying to figure out a major work to fit over the wheel bearing housing to make room and alignment with the rotor
@@HowieLop thank you! And ahhh I see. I couldn’t find many informative videos on this retrofit so I decided to make one myself. I’ll have a rear one being filmed soon! It’s a good idea to upgrade your brake master to either a mk6 r or tts / ttrs I believe it is to accommodate the extra pistons and more fluid that needs to be moved so the brakes don’t feel squishy.
I have to do this for my slave 😢
Yup🥲 internal slave problems
same
after how many km to change it?
If I remove the battery my tune wont revert to stock right? Lmao
No sir, you’ll be all good if you unplug the battery!
@@theshopspace sweet thanks brotha I couldn't find a straight awnser anywhereee 🤣
How did you get all the jacks under the pinch welds? Lifted the rear subframe?
Pretty much, it’s an effort. I jack the front up by the pinch weld pad for lift arms and then go by the subframe. The rear is easy if your car is stock ride height as I use the rear subframe and can get a jack under there without having to jack the side up first
Can I replace the gasket without removing the whole exhaust from the back?
