I have a white lilac tree (and two lilac bushes) in my front yard, the Bald Face Hornets love the trees and so do the Cicada killers that live under my carpenter pine tree. When they are both eating the sap of the tree, they are very docile, and I've picked a few of them up before. Stay away from their nests and let them pollinate! Should you find a hornet nest in an inconvenient spot-chances are that its convenient for them and not you but they are doing work that makes your gardens flourish as well as crops.

We have tons of them over here in Milford, for some reason, they arent very aggressive. They live on a tree in the neighborhood that the younger kids call "The bee tree". They dont have a nest, just a lot of them live on the tree, and have a small group that will stay on the tree, and they will just fly around humans, lands, be wholesome, then leave. There are nests around the neighborhood, but are very very tiny, contain no wasps, and are very far from the tree. Unsure why. Anyone have info on this?
